The Biden Administration is making up excuses to go after Elon Musk.
They’re terrified that censorship won’t continue on Twitter.
Joe Biden wants to target Elon Musk with this horrifying investigation.
Democrats are freaking out because Elon Musk has bought Twitter.
Just last week internal documents showed that top U.S. government agencies are working closely with social media companies like Facebook and Twitter to censor American freedom of speech.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Homeland Security held monthly meetings to talk about stopping “disinformation.”
Twitter infamously wouldn’t let users post the credible Hunter Biden laptop story in the final weeks of the 2020 campaign which played a major role in the outcome of a presidential election.
Now that Twitter is under Musk’s control U.S. Treasury Department officials are reportedly looking at whether they can legally investigate the recent purchase of Twitter due to his ties to foreign governments and investors.
The Washington Post reported that officials are concerned because “large foreign investors would have access to confidential information about Twitter’s finances — and potentially its users.”
It isn’t just the U.S. Treasury Department that is reportedly trying to target Musk, the FBI is also allegedly looking into whether there are potential counterintelligence risks posed by the acquisition but more details aren’t forthcoming.
The Washington Post specifically noted that the areas that the Biden Administration claims are causing concern are related to “a Saudi prince’s holding company and a subsidiary of the Qatari sovereign wealth fund.”
Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) requested that CFIUS “conduct an investigation into the national security implications of Saudi Arabia’s purchase of Twitter.”
“We should be concerned that the Saudis, who have a clear interest in repressing political speech and impacting U.S. politics, are now the second-largest owner of a major social media platform,” Murphy said. “There is a clear national security issue at stake and CFIUS should do a review.”
While Democrats claim that they are solely motivated by protecting Americans’ data President Joe Biden notably revoked and replaced the three executive orders by then-President Donald Trump that sought to ban transactions with TikTok and WeChat due to the social media apps having close ties to China’s Communist government.
Brendan Carr, one of five commissioners at the Federal Communications Commission, told Axios recently that The Council on Foreign Investment in the U.S. (CFIUS) should take action to ban TikTok.
Carr said that there simply isn’t “a world in which you could come up with sufficient protection on the data that you could have sufficient confidence that it’s not finding its way back into the hands of the [Chinese Communist Party].”
If Biden was serious about protecting Americans’ data he’d start with TikTok instead of targeting Musk as Twitter poised to allow freedom of speech that Democrats don’t agree with.
