The mainstream media caught Joe Biden in the movement that they created.
Now there is nothing they can do to save him.
Joe Biden’s criminal cover-up got derailed with an explosive media storm.
The Democrats should have realized that the standard of evidence that they set for Brett Kavanaugh would come back to haunt them.
The Democrats claimed that Christine Blasey Ford’s account should keep Kavanaugh from being given a position in high office even though she could not remember the year, the place or find a single witness to verify that she was ever at a party where she met Kavanaugh.
Kavanaugh was a defining moment in the #MeToo movement.
While before, much of the movement centered around bringing Harvey Weinstein and Bill Cosby to justice as multiple women came forward and told about the abuse that they suffered at their hands.
They are both currently serving prison sentences for their crimes.
Christine Blasey Ford couldn’t even convince her own father that her account was true.
Her friend, who reportedly went with her, had no memory of any party of the kind.
Since there was no evidence to back up her claim, Democrats said that women should always be believed.
If the Democrats were consistent in their standards, they would do everything in their power to keep Joe Biden from getting the nomination.
If the media were consistent, they would report the sexual assault allegation against Biden the same way they did Kavanaugh’s, but they aren’t, they’re trying to discredit Tara Reade, the alleged victim.
The Washington Post ran an article mentioning how Tara Reade was a supporter of Bernie Sanders, that none of the other allegations against Joe Biden are so serious, and that she only filed a police report last Thursday and had not mentioned Biden by name.
This is enraging members of the #MeToo movement.
According to The Daily Wire:
The Post’s seeming attempt to invalidate the legitimacy of Reade’s complaint infuriated actress Rose McGowan, a leading figure in the #MeToo movement who had been one of the chief accusers of Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein. McGowan tweeted a fiery post targeting the Post, writing, “This is not journalism, this is an agenda. This is a hit piece. You’ve sunk to a new low in slanted journalism and victim shaming @Washington Post.”
The notion that the Post had a political agenda and thus targeted Reade in order to support Biden gains credibility since in the middle of the article, the Post suddenly inserts a paragraph targeting President Trump.
What the #MeToo movement is learning is that the media will only unquestioningly believe stories that target Republicans.
The Washington Post said in an opinion piece about Christine Blasey Ford, “Just as we treat Kavanaugh with respect when referring to him, we should afford Ford the same respect. She, like Kavanaugh, needs to be seen to be fairly heard.”
The Washington Post should update it to read “Tara Reade, like Christine Blasey Ford, needs to be seen and fairly heard.”
