Kamala Harris is expected to replace Joe Biden as the Democrat Party candidate for president in 2024.
But those plans just got thrown a major curveball.
Kamala Harris is trying to hide one damaging truth that could end her career.
In February, Joe Biden named Kamala Harris as the administration in charge of the border crisis.
As soon as Biden made the announcement, Harris’ team worked with their friends in the corporate media to push a narrative that Harris really isn’t in charge of stopping the flow of illegal aliens pouring into the country.
Instead, Harris’ team claimed Harris was only in charge of correcting the conditions in the Northern Triangle countries of El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala that are causing record numbers of illegal aliens to march on the U.S. southern border.
CNN dutifully responded to Harris’ request with a puff piece reprinting Harris’ talking points as if the news story was merely a press release written by Harris’ office.
“Two White House officials familiar with the dynamic said Harris and her aides have emphasized internally that they want to focus on conditions in Central America that push migrants to the US southern border, as President Joe Biden tasked her to do. A record number of unaccompanied children crossed into the US this spring, and the throngs of desperate minors present a heart-rending problem as well as a political one,” CNN wrote.
The situation at the border is a thankless task because many Americans believe Biden wants open borders and a flood of illegal aliens in the country so the next amnesty bill can create as many new Democrat voters as possible.
Harris’ team realized that Harris would get stuck with all the blame as the administration failed to secure the border while constantly creating new magnets to attract illegal aliens to America and panic broke out in Harris’ office.
“After the announcement, Harris’ aides appeared to ‘panic,’ according to one of the officials, out of concern that her assignment was being mischaracterized and could be politically damaging if she were linked to the border, which at the time was facing a growing number of arrivals. But another White House official pushed back on the sentiment, saying the vice president’s team wasn’t panicked,” CNN also reported.
CNN marched to the beat Harris called and made sure to try and put as much distance between Harris and the crisis at the border as possible.
“Harris has stressed that her role is to address the ‘root causes’ of migration beginning in the Northern Triangle countries and Mexico, rather than the ‘symptoms’ of it manifesting at the border, which are being addressed by the Homeland Security secretary,” CNN reported.
It’s not hard to understand why.
Donald Trump won the 2016 election largely on the back of his opposition to illegal immigration and promises to build a wall along the southern border.
Right now a catastrophe is unfolding at the border.
The federal government has a record number of illegal alien children in custody.
In March the Border Patrol intercepted 172,000 illegal border crossings with that number swelling to 178,000 in April.
With Donald Trump threatening to stage a 2024 comeback, the last thing Kamala Harris wants is the border crisis as the defining issue in her portfolio for Donald Trump to compare and contrast to his time in office and the policies Trump implemented to secure the border.
