This was the day many thought would never come.
Democrats had no other choice.
And Kamala Harris just conceded this humiliating defeat to Donald Trump.
Joe Biden named Kamala Harris to oversee his administration’s response to the border crisis back in March.
Since Biden handed Harris that responsibility the situation only spiraled out of control.
In May, the Border Patrol intercepted 180,000 illegal border crossings which was the largest number in 20 years.
Harris took a trip to Central America to show she was on top of the situation, but that mission descended into farce as Harris generated negative media coverage over her refusal to say when or if she would visit the southern border.
The political toll of the Biden administration’s neglect at the border began to add up as polls showed Americans gave Joe Biden his lowest numbers on the border and immigration.
More than 90 days after Joe Biden placed her in charge of the solving the illegal immigration surge, the White House finally leaked that Harris would visit the border.
Harris spokeswoman Symone Sanders confirmed Harris would visit the border.
“Earlier this year, the President asked the Vice President to oversee our diplomatic efforts to address the root causes of migration from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras. As a part of this ongoing work, the Vice President traveled to Guatemala and Mexico earlier this month and will travel to El Paso on Friday.”
But the timing struck many as suspicious.
That’s because Donald Trump announced he would visit the border on June 30 with Texas Governor Greg Abbott.
It became obvious that Harris didn’t want Trump to upstage Harris on the top issue in her portfolio which also served as the centerpiece of Trump’s victorious 2016 campaign.
Following the administration announcing Harris would visit the border, Trump released a statement taking credit for forcing Harris to concede that the Biden strategy of open borders created this crisis.
“After months of ignoring the crisis at the Southern Border, it is great that we got Kamala Harris to finally go and see the tremendous destruction and death that they’ve created – direct result of Biden ending my very tough but fair Border policies,” Trump wrote.
Joe Biden rolled back successful Trump border policies such as the “Remain in Mexico” protocols which forced illegal aliens to wait in Mexico for the asylum cases to work to a conclusion instead of the government turning them loose in America.
Trump compared the state of the border when he left office – which Trump described as the most secure in the nation’s history – to the open borders under Joe Biden that are inviting what could be up to two million illegal aliens pouring into America in 2021.
“Harris and Biden were given the strongest Border in American history,” Trump added. “And now, it is by far the worst in American history.”
Democrats are worried the border and illegal immigration will prove politically toxic in the 2022 midterm elections.
That’s why Harris is scurrying to the border ahead of Donald Trump.
