Kamala Harris has every reason to be nervous.
Democrats doubt her standing as successor to Joe Biden.
Kamala Harris learned some bad news about Michelle Obama taking her place.
Popular podcast host Joe Rogan sent off a frenzy of speculation after Rogan predicted that Michelle Obama would run for president in 2024.
Rogan told guest conservative comic Tim Dillon that Michelle Obama was the Democrats’ only chance to defeat Donald Trump.
“I really believe if Michelle Obama runs, she wins,” Rogan stated. “She’s great, she’s intelligent, she’s articulate, she’s the wife of the best president that we have had in our lifetime in terms of like a representative of intelligent articulate people.”
Rogan believes Joe Biden failed so badly as president that the calamities on COVID, the border, Afghanistan and inflation don’t just disqualify Biden, they also prevent Harris from running as the Democrat Party nominee.
Fox News host Tim Hegseth put the idea of Michelle Obama running for president to American Conservative Union Chairman Matt Schlapp.
Schlapp is a strong Trump supporter and his wife Mercedes worked in the Trump administration.
In answering the question, Schlapp predicted Joe Biden would not run for office again due to Biden’s cognitive decline.
Without COVID providing cover for Biden to hide in the basement like he did in 2020, Biden’s growing senility would shine through on a full campaign schedule.
“It’s very interesting with the identity politics of the Democratic Party, this new socialist Democratic Party,” Schlapp began. “I mean I look at Joe Biden, I don’t know him personally. He sure doesn’t seem like he’s physically or mentally up to another presidential race, unless they can do one of these pseudo-presidential races where he stays in his basement with Hunter and everybody can vote as many times as they want through the mail.”
Schlapp noted the next in line is Kamala Harris and due to Democrats wedding themselves to identity politics Harris’ status as the first black female vice president made it problematic to replace her at the top of the ticket.
However, Schlapp reasoned that Harris’ disastrous performance as vice president would force Democrats to look elsewhere for a standard bearer.
“Well, she’s a woman, she’s a woman of color, she comes from California, she’s very left wing,” Schlapp added. “Now they have this problem of, ‘Oh my God, they’ve gotten to see Kamala Harris, and she’s terrible.’”
Schlapp noted that the only Democrat that checked every box from stature to poll numbers to racial and gender identity was Michelle Obama.
“I mean where is she, on planet Mars during all of this? I mean they don’t put her out at all because she’s not able to connect to the American people,” Schlapp concluded. “So they’re gonna replace Kamala Harris. They gotta look to the identity politics, and I have to say, Michelle Obama fits that type of thinking. Another woman of color who’s obviously got good poll numbers.”
If Michelle Obama ran against Donald Trump that would be the election to end all elections as the rivalry between Trump and Barack Obama is unparalleled in recent American history.
A contest between Trump and Obama would settle a question of presidential legacy, the future trajectory of American society, assumptions about voting demographics and the terms of policy debates in Washington.
