And now Kamala Harris made this promise to Americans that Democrats will live to regret.
Kamala Harris embarrassed herself – and America – with a bizarre, cringe-worthy performance at the Munich Security Conference.
Instead of securing America’s southern border, Harris pledged to defend the territorial integrity of Ukraine’s border with Russia.
Harris failed miserably at that task as she did in her role as Joe Biden’s border czar in managing the illegal immigration invasion.
Putin ignored Harris and Biden and invaded two separatist republics in Ukraine that many saw as the first step in large-scale invasion.
In the event of Russia invading Ukraine, Harris pledged that it would be the American people who paid the price in the form of higher gas prices after the Biden administration sanctioned the Russian oil and natural gas industry.
“When America stands for her principles and all of the things that we hold dear, it requires sometimes for us to put ourselves out there in a way that maybe we will incur some cost,” Harris declared.
The following day at the White House, Joe Biden doubled down on the promise of sanctioning the Russian oil and natural gas industry which would cause even higher prices at the pump.
“I want to limit the pain the American people are feeling at the gas pump. This is critical to me,” Biden stated.
Biden then falsely claimed his administration was doing everything in its power to limit the increase in gas prices.
“As we respond, my administration is using every tool at our disposal to protect American businesses and consumers from rising prices at the pump,” Biden added.
But that is not true at all.
Biden canceled the Keystone XL pipeline and banned new fracking leases on federal lands.
High gas prices are the goal of the Biden energy policy.
Since “green” energy sources are expensive and couldn’t otherwise compete, Biden wants to destroy the fossil fuel industry by artificially raising prices through taxes and regulations.
After Biden admitted his sanctions against Russia would hurt Americans, Biden then falsely claimed that his goal was to target the Russian economy and not America’s.
“As I said last week, defending freedom will have costs for us as well and here at home. We need to be honest about that. But as we do this, I’m going to take robust action to make sure the pain of our sanctions is targeted at the Russian economy, not ours,” Biden stated.
The number one step Biden could take to ease the pain on Americans would be increasing the American supply of energy.
Gas was $2.37 per gallon when Donald Trump left office.
Right now, under Joe Biden the national average sits at $3.53 – and that will climb as Biden sanctions the Russian energy industry.
Pain at the pump was a feature and not a bug of Joe Biden’s presidency.
And now when polls show the public turning on the Democrats on every issue Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are promising the American people even higher gas prices.
