There are several moving parts to the Deep State conspiracy against Donald Trump.
One truth the anti-Trump forces have schemed to keep hidden is the collusion between a shadowy firm hired by Hillary Clinton to produce the Russia dossier and the FBI.
Now one key Senator just exposed a lie that could unravel the Deep State.
Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson is at the center of the controversy surrounding the dossier.
After a law firm representing the Clinton campaign hired Fusion to dig up dirt on Donald Trump, Simpson contracted the work to ex-British intelligence officer Christopher Steele.
This was the origin of the fake news Russia dossier – which is at the heart of the FBI’s spying on the Trump campaign.
Simpson testified to Congress last August that his firm stopped working on the Russia investigation after the election.
But this was not true.
In a bombshell letter, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley accused Simpson of lying about that fact and that Simpson and Fusion continued to feed the Deep State conspiracy well after the election started.
Grassley wrote,
“For example, when the Committee staff interviewed Glenn Simpson in August of 2017, Majority staff asked him: “So you didn’t do any work on the Trump matter after the election date, that was the end of your work?” Mr. Simpson answered: “I had no client after the election.” As we now know, that was extremely misleading, if not an outright lie.”
Senator Grassley was able to determine Simpson was lying because Daniel Jones – a former aide to California Democrat Senator Diane Feinstein – admitted to the FBI that wealthy liberal donors had funneled 50 million dollars into his firm – the Penn Quarter Group – which was used by Steele and Fusion GPS to continue the Russia investigation.
And through Penn Quarter Group, Steele and Fusion GPS continued to collude with the FBI.
In the summer of 2016, Steele began to pass the fake news he was being fed by Russian intelligence sources to the FBI.
This practice persisted after the election.
A report of the FBI interview with Jones revealed Jones offered the FBI the sum total of their new findings.
That was not the end of disinformation from Steele making its way into the political bloodstream.
The work done by Jones, Fusion GPS, and Steele popped up in text messages between Virginia Democrat Mark Warner – the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee – and Adam Waldman – a lawyer for a Russian oligarch and who works for a lobbying firm connected to Hillary Clinton.
Waldman was working as a secret backchannel between Steele and Warner in hopes of setting up an interview between the foreign spy and the Senate Intelligence Committee.
This occurred after a March 2017 meeting between Waldman and Jones.
The Daily Caller reports Waldman shared text messages exclusively with their reporter Chuck Ross.
In the messages, Jones described his group as covert operators working with the government.
The Daily Caller reported:
“According to Waldman, Jones also referred to Fusion GPS during their March 2017 meeting as a “shadow media organization helping the government.”
Grassley threatening a criminal referral for Simpson’s false testimony could be the straw that breaks the camel’s back.
If Simpson feels legal pressure for allegedly lying about his company continuing to feed the Deep State gossip and unsubstantiated claims, it could be the key to unraveling the entire network of anti-Trump operators.
