Polls and momentum are shifting against the Democrat Party in the final weeks of the midterm election campaign.
But the left had one last trick up its sleeve.
And Liz Cheney tried to save Joe Biden by dropping this massive October surprise.
The January 6 committee held its final performance of the year.
And this hearing came on a day when the government’s own report showed inflation spiking to higher levels than expected.
Inflation and the economy are the number one issue for voters and polls show Americans massively disapprove of Joe Biden’s handling of those issues.
To distract from the bad news and allow the corporate media to ignore topics that present unfavorable political terrain for Democrats the January 6 committee rode into the rescue.
At the conclusion of the committee’s final hearing Chairman Bennie Thompson allowed Never Trump RINO Liz Cheney to lead a vote on a motion to subpoena Donald Trump to testify before the committee.
“We have left no doubt, none, that Donald Trump led an effort to upend American democracy that directly resulted in the violence of Jan. 6. He tried to take away the voice of the American people in choosing their president, and place the will of the voters with his will to remain in power. He is the one person at the center of the story of what happened on Jan. 6. We want to hear from him,” Thompson declared.
Cheney ranted about how the committee could not put a point on their work without Trump’s direct testimony.
“Our committee now has sufficient information to answer many of the critical questions posed by Congress at the outset. We have sufficient information to consider criminal referrals for multiple individuals, and to recommend a range of legislative proposals to guard against another Jan. 6. But a key task remains. We must seek the testimony, under oath, of Jan. 6’s central player,” Cheney raged.
Trump spokesman Taylor Budowich dismissed the subpoena as a partisan stunt.
“They are simply bitter, power hungry & desperate. Pres Trump will not be intimidate[d] by their meritless rhetoric or un-American actions. Trump-endorsed candidates will sweep the Midterms, and America First leadership & solutions will be restored. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Budowich posted on Twitter.
Donald Trump will ignore this subpoena as there is no legal precedent for Congress to subpoena a former president.
For historical reference, Trump would not be the first former president subpoenaed by Congress.

But the committee’s goal from the outset was political.
Nancy Pelosi put this committee together to help Democrats win the midterm election.
And the committee’s plan to subpoena Trump has nothing to do with arriving at the truth about January 6.
Instead, the purpose is to chew up news cycles in the final weeks of the campaign allowing the media to babble on about Donald Trump instead of focusing on stories that matter to the American people like crime, inflation, and the crisis at the southern border.
