Maxine Waters is moving to the end game in her plan to impeach Donald Trump.
Waters and her fellow Democrats are about to pull out the big guns.
And Maxine Waters is demanding the Supreme Court do something that will leave Donald Trump red with rage.
Democrats are making Donald Trump’s tax returns their latest hill to die on in their quest to overturn the results of the 2016 election.
Waters – and other top Democrats – have demanded the IRS Commissioner fork over Donald Trump’s tax returns.
Trump did not make his returns public during the 2016 election – as is his right because there is no legal requirement Presidential candidates do so.
Democrats, who were left reeling after special counsel Robert Mueller failed to turn up evidence of treasonous conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia, settled on fishing through Trump’s finances as their next best bet to overthrow the duly-elected President.
So Waters sat for a friendly chat with CNN’s fake news anchor Anderson Cooper to explain just how far Democrats will go to get their mitts on the President’s tax returns.
“Let me just say this: We cannot believe anything that’s been said by this president or by Mr. Mnuchin. Let me just refer you back to the president of the United States, who has said over 16 times that he would release his tax returns. He confuses it by saying it’s under audit. It does not make any difference if it is under audit. He could release those tax returns,” Waters ranted.
Cooper teed-up Waters by noting that President Trump and his lawyers have vowed to fight any demand for his tax returns all the way to the Supreme Court.
The California Democrat assured CNN’s remaining viewers – a portion of their audience abandoned them after it was clear that they lied for years about there being evidence of Russian collusion – that the Democrats are all-in for going to the Supreme Court.
Waters said, “I think that’s a fight that the public wants us to fight. They want to see those tax returns. He said he would give those tax returns. Every other president has released those tax returns. And that’s a fight that we should have.”
But Democrats are unlikely to prevail at the Supreme Court level.
The obscure law the Democrats cited to demand President Trump’s tax returns requires a legitimate policy purpose.
Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin telegraphed where this fight is headed when he informed Congress that his agency would not be able to meet the deadline for furnishing the President’s tax returns and cited the political nature of the request.
Even Never-Trump RINOs like Mitt Romney declared the Democrats demand for the President’s tax returns was “moronic” and doomed to fail at the Supreme Court.
