Megyn Kelly played a key role in a sex scandal that almost brought down Fox News.
Since then, things have been all downhill for Kelly.
But now Megyn Kelly made a shocking admission about her career that no one saw coming.
Megyn Kelly’s testimony that former Fox News President Roger Ailes sexually harassed her was key to Fox ousting Ailes.
Ailes built Fox News into a ratings juggernaut and the liberal fake news media celebrated his firing.
Fake news reporters – as well as many Democrats – secretly hoped that forcing out Ailes would lead to Fox News becoming more liberal.
When the much hoped for Fox News collapse did not materialize in the wake of Ailes’ ouster, Hollywood stepped in and doubled down on the scandal.
Showtime produced a six-episode limited series, “The Loudest Voice in the Room”, starring Oscar winning actor Russell Crowe as Roger Ailes.
The hit piece – which presented more fiction than fact – flopped in the ratings.
That failure did not deter anti-Fox News forces on the left.
The major Hollywood motion picture “Bombshell” about the scandal – which focuses on Kelly’s role in bringing down Ailes – is scheduled for release in December.
A-list actress Charlize Theron plays Kelly in the movie.
Kelly discussed Theron’s casting in an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail.
The Daily Mail reports:
Kelly also revealed while she is pleased actress Charlize Theron is playing her in Bombshell, the upcoming film about the Fox News scandal surrounding the late Roger Ailes, she isn’t sure she’ll be watching the movie when it comes out.
Kelly said she doesn’t know much about the movie, but said she was a fan of Theron, saying: ‘She seems smart, seems like a good mom, so I could do worse.’
Kelly’s portrayal in both “Bombshell and “The Loudest Voice in the Room” became problematic for many on the left after NBC fired her for supposedly racially insensitive comments about blackface Halloween costumes.
Kelly’s character never appeared once on screen in “The Loudest Voices” – she was only referred to – but figures to play a prominent role in “Bombshell”.
And in truth, it is impossible to tell the Fox News story and Ailes’ downfall without Kelly.
It was Kelly’s testimony that backed up Gretchen Carlson’s allegations against Ailes that led to Fox News Channel booting Ailes.
Fox News’ parent company chairman Rupert Murdoch’s children James and Lachlan hoped to use that moment to move Fox News to the middle and establish Kelly as the centerpiece of the network’s primetime lineup.
Those plans blew up when in January 2017 Kelly announced she was jumping ship to NBC in an ill-fated move.
It was not all bad for Kelly.
Despite being fired by NBC, Kelly still walked out the door with her entire 69-million-dollar contract and no non-compete clause – which means she can work anywhere and at anytime she chooses.
