Democrats are begging and hoping for Michelle Obama to enter the 2020 field.
Many top donors and party leaders consider her the one Democrat that can defeat Donald Trump.
But Michelle Obama’s 2020 plans got thrown into chaos because of this decision.
Establishment Democrats quickly soured on former Vice President Joe Biden.
Biden generates little enthusiasm among the party rank-and-file as well as major donors.
This led to a toxic situation where the Democrats’ money men are looking for other candidates and base voters, flocking toward newer, younger or more ideologically leftist candidates.
Establishment Democrats initially thought Biden was their strongest candidate.
But a recent Quinnipiac poll of Iowa Democrats found Biden sinking to fourth place in the all-important Iowa caucuses.
This led to panic among top Democrats as Senators Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders rendered themselves unelectable because of anti-American and socialist proposals to ban private health insurance, decriminalize illegal border crossings and give free taxpayer-funded health care to illegal aliens.
Democrats’ dream choice is Michelle Obama.
And as long as former President Obama does not endorse a candidate, party big wigs hold out hope that means the former First Lady will enter the race at a later date.
One Democrat that understands this dynamic is former New York City Mayor and billionaire gun control fanatic Michael Bloomberg.
Bloomberg sees Biden floundering and the socialists rising and is now preparing to enter the primary.
The Democrat Party’s field of Presidential candidates is not looking promising.
The New York Times reported:
“Michael R. Bloomberg is actively preparing to enter the Democratic presidential primary and is expected to file paperwork this week designating himself as a candidate in at least one state with an early filing deadline, people briefed on Mr. Bloomberg’s plans said.
“Mr. Bloomberg, the former New York City mayor and billionaire businessman, has been privately weighing a bid for the White House for weeks and has not yet made a final decision on whether to run, an adviser said. But in the first sign that he is seriously moving toward a campaign, Mr. Bloomberg has dispatched staffers to Alabama to gather signatures to qualify for the primary there. Though Alabama does not hold an early primary, it has a Friday deadline for candidates to formally enter the race.”
Bloomberg advisor Howard Wolfson told the Times why the former mayor was considering the race.
“We now need to finish the job and ensure that Trump is defeated — but Mike is increasingly concerned that the current field of candidates is not well positioned to do that,” Wolfson told the Times. “If Mike runs he would offer a new choice to Democrats built on a unique record running America’s biggest city, building a business from scratch and taking on some of America’s toughest challenges as a high-impact philanthropist.”
Most pundits believe if Bloomberg enters the race, he poses the biggest threat to former Vice President Biden.
Bloomberg would enter the race as a pro-business centrist which is the air space Biden is currently trying to occupy.
