All hell is breaking loose in the 2020 Presidential Election.
Donald Trump is on the verge of a major announcement.
Mike Pence left Fox News viewers stunned when he confirmed this big 2020 rumor.
Republicans voted to hold their 2020 presidential nominating convention in Charlotte, North Carolina.
North Carolina’s 15 Electoral College votes are vital to President Trump’s re-election hopes.
The GOP hoped a four day rally and tens of thousands of Republicans pumping tens of millions of dollars into North Carolina’s activity would seal the deal in the Tar Heel state.
But Democrat Governor Roy Cooper locked down North Carolina and is slow-walking reopening North Carolina’s economy.
In an interview with Fox and Friends, Vice President Mike Pence confirmed President Trump’s threat to move the convention out of North Carolina if the Democrat Governor played political games and blocks the GOP from holding a full capacity convention.
“These national conventions literally take many months to organize and prepare, and you know, there are states around the country — we think of Texas, we think of Florida, Georgia, the last two states I visited last week that have made tremendous progress on reopening their communities and reopening their economies, and I think the president is absolutely intent on ensuring that as we see our nation continue to make steady progress on putting the coronavirus epidemic in the past, that come this August, we’ll be able to come together in a safe and responsible venue and renominate President Donald Trump for four more years,” Pence told Fox and Friends.
Pence made it clear that the President’s first preference was to be in Charlotte this August.
“We all want to be in Charlotte. We love North Carolina, but having a sense now is absolutely essential because of the immense preparations that are involved, and we look forward to working with Governor Cooper, getting a swift response, and if needs be … moving the national convention to a state that is [further] along on reopening and can say with confidence that we can gather there,” Pence added.
Roy Cooper is not the only Democrat Governor playing politics and keeping their state’s economy shut down to damage the economy and hurt President Trump’s re-election chances.
Governors in Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey and California are all keeping their economies closed to inflict pain on their states’ residents in the hopes that they take it out on President Trump at the ballot box.
But there are signs the economy is coming back to life.
Consumer confidence was up in May and home sales were up one percent in April when experts predicted they would plunge 22 percent.
Democrats’ worst nightmare is the economy rebounding in the summer and early fall and the American people crediting President Trump with leading the country through the pandemic.
And certain governors are throwing every monkey wrench they can to foul up the economic rebound.
