Nancy Pelosi is taking a holiday from her work at the worst possible time.
Average Americans are suffering while Pelosi prioritizes herself.
Nancy Pelosi decided to abandon her job with one shocking declaration.
Marist College polled 1,008 adults across America and found that half of the people they surveyed had lost significant household income because of the coronavirus.
Unemployment has hit levels that haven’t been seen since the Great Depression and this unemployment is a direct result of the governors’ stay-at-home orders that have crushed the economy.
Nancy Pelosi seems like she is trying to sabotage her own party with her actions.
She held money to help individuals, she held up money for small businesses and who knows when Congress will be open again.
Nancy Pelosi is not willing to risk her health to do her job.
Being a member of Congress comes with a lot of perks but it also comes with the responsibility to lead the country even in difficult situations.
Nancy Pelosi has been elected to Congress sixteen times. She’s had a lot of privilege, but now in times of trouble, she’s holed herself away in her San Francisco mansion.
Instead of coming back to work on May 4th, House Democrats, led by Nancy Pelosi, voted to indefinitely postpone the next session of Congress.
“House Majority Leader announces the US House will not be returning on May 4, as initially planned,” NBC News reported Tuesday. “After speaking with the House physician on Monday, [House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD)] said ‘we made a judgment that we will not come back next week.’”
“The House will not come back to Washington next week, House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer told reporters Tuesday, reversing an announcement he made on a Democratic Caucus conference call the previous day,” NBC said in another story.
“The change of course comes as members expressed concern about returning to Washington while some areas in the region are developing into coronavirus hot spots,” NBC continued. “Hoyer said the decision to delay the return, which had been briefly scheduled for May 4, came after he talked with the Capitol physician, who said he recommended against taking the risk involved in members returning.”
But the real reason that Pelosi isn’t going to return to Washington may have nothing to do with her health.
She’s already failed to use the coronavirus crisis to push any of the Democrats’ agenda forward.
Now she only has one last shot, but Mitch McConnell is looking carefully at the national debt.
He knows that Nancy Pelosi wants to try and pass unsustainable amounts of spending and he’s publicly declared that the Senate is not going to quickly pass more spending.
Mitch McConnell has also said that he is unwilling to bail out states that have gotten into trouble because of chronic spending problems.
Since Pelosi can’t pass any of the big spending bills she’d like to, she’ll just twiddle her thumbs at home instead of going to work.
