The Democrats are terrified that Joe Biden will lose the election.
So they’re desperately trying to hedge their bets.
Nancy Pelosi ordered an emergency meeting when she heard this piece of news.
The polls show that Trump’s reelection chances are not half bad.
CNN’s latest poll showed that Trump is neck and neck with Democrat nominee Joe Biden leading in the battleground states.
This leaves Democrats in an uncomfortable position.
Biden isn’t doing much to win over voters sitting in his basement, that strategy only worked when he was ahead, however when Biden does talk, he doesn’t help his campaign.
So the Democrats’ plan is to pretend that Trump is trying to steal the election.
This time, by falsely claiming that Trump is trying to stop the U.S. Postal Service from operating.
The Postal Service has been in trouble for years.
Part of the reason is that Congress passed a law in 2006 that prevents the USPS from raising their rates by more than the Consumer Price Index.
Trump has agreed to give the USPS a loan of “$10 billion in emergency coronavirus relief funding,” The Washington Post reported, adding that the money is “a crucial injection of cash that postal officials say will keep the debt-laden agency solvent for at least another year.”
However, giving the USPS more money won’t fix the problem when they have themselves admitted that they have a “broken business model” which is evident by the fact that they lost $78 billion from 2007-2019.
But the real reason is that Democrats are just trying to find an excuse to attack Trump.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says that Democrats need to “save” the postal system and ended the House of Representatives’ summer recess Monday.
“Alarmingly, the Postmaster General — a Trump mega-donor — has acted as an accomplice in the president’s campaign to cheat in the election, as he launches sweeping new operational changes that degrade delivery standards and delay the mail,” Pelosi moaned in her statement.
“The Postal Service itself has warned that voters — even if they send in their ballots by state deadlines — may be disenfranchised in 46 states and in Washington, D.C., by continued delays,” she continued. “This constitutes a grave threat to the integrity of the election and to our very democracy.”
Trump already loaned the USPS the money to stay solvent for another year, but Democrats wanted the post office to get another $25 billion.
The Democrats haven’t shown any evidence that the post office is changing their operations in a way that willaffect the election.
They are yet again pretending that Trump is stealing the election because they can’t admit, even for a moment, that millions of Americans will go to the polls and vote for Trump.
