Nancy Pelosi stood in front of the TV cameras to address the growing controversy surrounding Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s anti-Semitic remarks.
All hell then proceeded to break loose.
And what Nancy Pelosi said about Ilhan Omar will leave you speechless.
Nancy Pelosi was facing a public relations nightmare.
Many old-line Democrats demanded the House vote on a resolution condemning Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s slurs that Jewish Americans were more loyal to Israel than the United States.
The House was all set to vote on a resolution condemning anti-Semitism – but not mentioning Omar by name – until backlash from the radical left, led by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, forced Pelosi to pull the resolution.
Pelosi was forced to explain this debacle in her weekly meeting with reporters.
It did not go well.
Pelosi condescendingly treated the nearly 40-year-old Omar as if she was a child.
“I don’t think that the congresswoman perhaps appreciates the full weight of how it was heard by other people, although I don’t believe it was intended in an anti-Semitic way,” Pelosi declared during her weekly press conference.
“But the fact is, if that’s how it was interpreted, we have to remove all doubt.”
But Pelosi knew the Democrats couldn’t afford to not do anything.
So they offered up a resolution condemning hate against Jews, Muslims, homosexuals and every other marginalized group in America.
“I thought the resolution should enlarge the issue to anti-Semitism, anti-Islamophobia, anti-white supremacy, and that it should not mention her name,” Pelosi continued. “And that’s what we’re working on — something that is one resolution addressing these forms of hatred, not mentioning her name, because it’s not about her. It’s about these forms of hatred.”
“She may need to explain that she did not — it’s up to her to explain, but I do not believe that she understood the full weight of the words [she used],” Pelosi continued.
However, the Democrats resolution did not include hatred against Christians.
Pelosi also “whitesplained” that Omar’s background as an immigrant left her too ignorant to understand how her remarks would be interpreted.
“I understand how advocates come in with their enthusiasms, but when you cross that threshold into Congress your words weigh much more than when you’re shouting at somebody outside,” Pelosi added.
“And I feel confident that her words were not based on any anti-Semitic attitude, but that she didn’t have a full appreciation of how they landed on other people, where these words have a history and a cultural impact that may have been unknown.”
The resolution was a sham.
Democrats needed to vote on something, so they condemned every known hate in the universe in order to avoid the actual issue—Ilhan Omar is an anti-Semite who carries hate in her heart for Jewish people and the state of Israel.
This incident – and Pelosi scrambling to please her left flank – shows that it is Ocasio-Cortez, Omar, and the rest of the anti-Semitic radicals who are running the Democrat Party.
