Democrats from Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi on down just got smacked with the biggest surprise of their lives.
This bad news upended the Democrat Party’s strategy for impeachment and 2020.
And now Nancy Pelosi shook her head in disbelief as a new poll turned her world upside down.
Many Americans were puzzled over Nancy Pelosi’s decision to freeze impeachment by withholding the articles of impeachment from the Senate for nearly 30 days.
Pelosi’s strategy came into focus with new polling data from fake news CNN.
Critics contend that fake news CNN works on behalf of the Democrat Party.
But not even fake news CNN could fabricate polling results to spin Donald Trump’s re-election chances.
And as much as fake news CNN hated to admit it, the President’s re-election prospects were much stronger than anyone thought.
Two numbers stood out.
First, among voters that were most enthusiastic to vote, for President Trump, a majority approved of his job performance.
Investigative reporter Ryan James Girdusky tweeted:

Registered voters: 45/51
– Extremely enthusiastic voters: 51/47
– Very enthusiastic voters: 46/52
– Less enthusiastic voters: 35/59
Second, in the battleground states that will decide the election, President Trump’s approval rating is 55 percent among voters that were extremely enthusiastic to vote.
Girdusky tweeted:

Extreme Enthusiastic: 55/45
Less Enthusiastic: 42/51
While it is true that an enthusiastic voter casts one vote just the same as an unenthusiastic voter does, voter enthusiasm is a proxy for which side’s base is more likely to turn out in the election.
The CNN poll shows that voters that approve of Trump are rearing to go to turn out in November.
President Trump’s approval numbers – as well as his standing in hypothetical general election head to head matchups – may be underestimated because the people most likely to vote against Trump are the least enthusiastic about turning out.
All through 2017 and 2018 trial heat polls showed the enthusiasm gap favored the Democrats.
And the Democrats ended up scoring a decisive victory in the 2018 midterms.
The shoe appears to be on the other foot as Election Day approaches.

Democrats see the President gaining strength and Pelosi and other party leaders want to make sure voters nominate the most “electable” candidate.
By delaying an impeachment trial until the end of January, Speaker Pelosi locked Bernie Sanders down in Washington while establishment favorite former Vice President Joe Biden is free to campaign across Iowa.
If Biden wins Iowa the primary will end quickly.
That is the result party leaders want and Pelosi did her part to choke off Sanders’ momentum to give Biden a clear path to try and win Iowa and lock down the nomination.
