Nancy Pelosi stood on the House floor for eight hours and railed about granting amnesty to illegal aliens.
But one remark stood out most.
Pelosi put the final nail in her coffin with a racist attack on white people.
During her hours of blabbering on the House floor, Pelosi filled time by telling the story of her grandson.
Pelosi claimed her grandson had a friend from Guatemala.
When her grandson blew out the candles on his birthday cake, someone asked if he made a wish.
Pelosi declared he said he wished he had “brown skin” like his friend.
Fox News reports:
“House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi spoke for a record eight hours on the House floor Wednesday, urging lawmakers to take up a bill on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.
The marathon address included many stories from Pelosi (D-Calif.), including one in which she said her 6-year-old grandson once wished that he was Hispanic on his birthday.
Pelosi explained that the child had “a very close friend named Antonio,” who was from Guatemala.
“This was such a proud day for me because when my grandson blew out the candles on his cake, they said, ‘Did you make a wish?’… He said, ‘I wish I had brown skin and brown eyes like Antonio.’ So beautiful, so beautiful. The beauty is in the mix,” she told her House colleagues.
Pelosi took to the floor to lodge a protest to the budget deal reached by Senate leaders earlier on Wednesday, which included no action on DACA.
“The face of the future for our country is all-American, and that has many versions,” she said.”
Tucker Carlson blasted Pelosi for the bigoted sentiments she – and other elites – often express.
Fox News also reports:
“Tucker Carlson reacted to the “striking” statement, asking whether Pelosi believes it’s “healthy to hate yourself for the way God made you.”
“If you want to live in a country where everyone doesn’t hate everyone else for the color of their skin, you ought not to say things like that. Democrats should stop talking like this in public,” he said.”
Pelosi and the Democrats are doubling down on identity politics.
But it’s a risky strategy.
Americans were fed up with Obama and the left spending the last eight years dividing Americans by race and gender, which helped fuel Donald Trump’s rise.
A similar dynamic could play out in the 2018 midterms.
And if Democrats fail to win control of the House, it could spell the end of Nancy Pelosi’s career.
It’s highly unlikely Democrats would keep her on as leader after a fourth straight failed attempt to take back Congress.
