Nancy Pelosi planned to hold off on impeachment until Robert Mueller released his report.
That day finally arrived.
But Nancy Pelosi’s reaction to the Mueller report had someone talking treason.
Nancy Pelosi spent the 2018 campaign claiming Democrats had no interest in impeachment.
That was a lie.
The only reason Pelosi pushed this line was because she knew impeachment was a political loser during the campaign.
But secretly, Pelosi plotted with the incoming Democrat committee chairs to lay out a two year plan to impeach the President.
However, those plans all went down in flames when Mueller submitted his report.
The special counsel completely exonerated the President and his campaign on the question of Russian collusion.
“The Special Counsel’s investigation did not find that the Trump campaign or anyone associated with it conspired or coordinated with Russia in its efforts to influence the 2016 U.S. presidential election. As the report states: “[T]he investigation did not establish that members of the Trump Campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities,” Attorney General William Barr wrote in a summary of Mueller’s findings.
Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer – the Democrat leaders in Congress – scrambled to respond.
Pelosi and Schumer latched onto some language in Barr’s summary claiming that the special counsel’s office did not bring charges against President Trump for obstruction, but did not fully “exonerate” him either.
“Attorney General Barr’s letter raises as many questions as it answers,” Pelosi and Schumer wrote in a statement.
“The fact that Special Counsel Mueller’s report does not exonerate the president on a charge as serious as obstruction of justice demonstrates how urgent it is that the full report and underlying documentation be made public without any further delay, Given Mr. Barr’s public record of bias against the Special Counsel’s inquiry, he is not a neutral observer and is not in a position to make objective determinations about the report.”
But that was a lie.
Attorney General Barr wrote that, “the Special Counsel recognized that ‘the evidence does not establish that the President was involved in an underlying crime related to Russian election interference,’ and that, while not determinative, the absence of such evidence bears upon the President’s intent with respect to obstruction.”
Americans were outraged at Pelosi and Schumer’s reaction.
And it proved that the Mueller investigation was a fraud and a sham.
Mueller left the question of obstruction open precisely so Democrats like Pelosi and Schumer could grab onto that “conclusion” in order to pursue their impeachment agenda.
But no matter how Mueller tried to spin his findings to provide a soft landing for Democrats, millions of Americans expressed their frustration that Pelosi and Schumer refused to accept the findings that Trump did not collude with the Russians and that it was time to end the partisan witch hunts.
However, the Mueller investigation was never meant to provide closure.
It was always an attempt by the anti-Trump forces in the swamp to undo the 2016 election.
Pelosi and Schumer gave the game away, but it did not sit well with Americans who saw their actions as anti-American and un-democratic.
