RINO former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley tried to elevate herself to become Donald Trump’s top challenger for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.
Now all hell is breaking loose.
And Nikki Haley claimed Donald Trump needs to take a cognitive test before being allowed to run.
Back in April 2021 Nikki Haley told reporters that she would not run for president if Donald Trump sought re-election.
Haley added that if Trump ran for a second term then Haley would endorse Trump.
But Haley did not keep her word.
Conservatives in South Carolina recognized that as a typical pattern of behavior for Haley who tried to fashion herself as a Tea Party champion only to sell out conservatives at the first opportunity.
Radio host Hugh Hewitt asked Donald Trump about the prospect of Haley running against him for the nomination.
Trump tried to brush off Haley’s impending announcing saying Haley was a typically ambitious career politician.
“She’s overly ambitious,” Trump said, adding that “Now in the case of Nikki Haley…she said, ‘I’ll never run against my president…I’ll never run.’ But Nikki suffers from something that is a very tough thing to suffer from: She’s overly ambitious.”
Trump said Haley called him to let him know she was going to run and Trump said he told her that if she wanted to run she should, but that Haley tended to quit the political jobs she sought.
“She’s a very ambitious person. She just couldn’t stay in her seat. I said, ‘You know what, Nikki, if you want to run, you go ahead and run,’” Trump added.
In 2016 Haley resigned as governor of South Carolina with two years left in her term to accept the position of U.N. ambassador in the Trump administration.
Haley also quit that job after just two years as well.
This time Trump supporters cheered Haley leaving as Haley supported Liz Cheney’s foreign policy and would often undermine Donald Trump’s America First agenda in foreign affairs.
Minutes after the Trump interview with Hewitt, Haley responded in the most passive aggressive way possible.
Haley posted a link to a November 2021 interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network’s David Brody where Haley — ostensibly attacking Joe Biden — declared older candidates needed to take a cognitive test before running for president.
“Well what I’ll tell you is, rather than making this about a person, we seriously need to have a conversation that if you’re gonna have anyone above a certain age in a position of power — whether it’s the House, whether it’s the Senate, whether it’s vice president, whether it’s president — you should have some sort of cognitive test,” Haley began.
“And right now, let’s face it, we’ve got a lot of people in leadership positions that are old. And that’s not being disrespectful. That’s a fact,” Haley explained. “And when it comes to that, this shouldn’t be partisan. We should seriously be looking at the ages of the people that are running our country and understand if that’s what we want.”
Donald Trump is 76 years old.
It was obvious to all that Haley meant posting this article as her way of implying Donald Trump is senile to question her ambition and authenticity.
