Obama is known to pal around with less than reputable people.
Many of them have even found themselves in big trouble for committing crimes.
And a close Obama ally just admitted he broke the law.
While serving as President, many in Barack Obama’s cabinet did some shady things.
John Kerry was no exception.
Serving as his Secretary of State, there were many disastrous things that he did.
One of the worst things he did while in power was negotiate the Iran nuclear deal.
There was perhaps no worse deal in history, and making it even worse, Iran didn’t follow through with their half of the deal.
Because of that, President Trump promised to either renegotiate, or leave the Iran nuclear deal.
In recent days, Trump has made it clear that he is leaving it on the May 12th deadline instead of re-signing it.
This made John Kerry more furious than perhaps anybody else.
But instead of just being angry about the decision, Kerry decided to take matters into his own hands.
Kerry chose to meet with Iranian leaders to discuss the nuclear deal, and try to find a way to keep it in place.
Making matters worse, this wasn’t the only world leader that Kerry has been meeting with.
In recent months he has met with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and French President Emmanuel Macron.
He seems like he is trying to keep doing his old job of Secretary of State.
As it turns out, doing so could put Kerry in hot water.
His meetings with Iran to discuss the nuclear deal are a violation of the Logan Act, according to legal scholars.
Violating the Logan Act is a big deal, and could result in prison time.
As reported by The Daily Caller:
“John Kerry is in the hot seat after new reports revealed that former President Obama’s Secretary of State was actively working with his Iranian counterparts to keep the Iran Nuclear Deal in place.
The Boston Globe reported Friday that Kerry has been secretly meeting with politicians and diplomats around the world in an attempt to salvage the future of the Iran nuclear deal and undermine the current administration.
According to The Globe, Kerry met with Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif multiple times over the last few months. He also met with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, French President Emmanuel Macron and multiple members of Congress here in the United States.
According to Fox News political reporter Brooke Singman, a Kerry spokesperson admitted the reports were accurate, telling the news outlet that “Secretary Kerry stays in touch with his former counterparts around the world,” and that Kerry was working to make sure the tenants of the Iran Deal “remain effective.”
The report comes as the Trump administration is under intense scrutiny for allegations that they colluded with a foreign power to swing the presidential election. No evidence has yet been presented to support that claim.
Legal scholar Alan Dershowitz says Kerry is in clear violation of the Logan Act.”
John Kerry can’t stand the fact that Donald Trump is President.
Instead of accepting it; Kerry seems to want to try to negotiate around the world behind his back.
Thankfully, there is a law that limits him when it comes to that.
Do you think John Kerry should be investigated?
