Tucker Carlson may be the biggest star on Fox News but that does not mean Carlson doesn’t have enemies inside the network.
And now one of Carlson’s critics at Fox smells blood in the water.
One Fox News host attacked Tucker Carlson in this jaw-dropping betrayal.
Even though Geraldo Rivera is friends with Donald Trump and supported the president, Rivera is still one of the more liberal voices at Fox.
Rivera attacked Tucker Carlson in an interview with The New York Times over Carlson’s new investigative reporting series “Patriot Purge” where Carlson will present evidence showing Democrats, Never Trumpers and the corporate media lied to the American public about January 6 being a Trump-inspired “insurrection.”
Carlson promised to investigate the question of how many FBI informants were in the crowd that day and what role the government agents played in inciting or carrying out the melee.
You can watch the trailer for Carlson’s important three-part series at the bottom of this article.
Rivera accused Carlson of trying to stoke rage and spread conspiracy theories with his new fact-based reporting.
“Tucker’s wonderful, he’s provocative, he’s original, but — man oh man,” Rivera said in a phone interview with the Times. “There are some things that you say that are more inflammatory and outrageous and uncorroborated. And I worry that — and I’m probably going to get in trouble for this — but I’m wondering how much is done to provoke, rather than illuminate.”
Rivera – like the talking heads at CNN, elected Democrats and Never Trumpers – continued to push the line that no one is allowed to question the official story crafted by Democrats and their allies in the corporate media that Trump supporters attempted to overthrow American democracy in a violent insurrection.
“Messing around with Jan. 6 stuff,” Rivera added. “The record to me is pretty damn clear, that there was a riot that was incited and encouraged and unleashed by Donald Trump.”
January 6 was not an insurrection.
There was a riot with violence, but democracy was never in danger.
Only five people out of 670 were charged with carrying a firearm – and only two had them in the Capitol and the only gun shot fired that day was by a Capitol Hill Police Officer who killed an unarmed female Trump supporter named Ashli Babbitt.
The Trump supporters could not have overthrown the U.S. government with their “arsenal” of flag poles, sticks and police barricades.
So there was no “insurrection” designed to topple the U.S. government.
The whole event was over in a matter of hours after the people were finished milling about the Capitol and snapping selfies with their smartphones.
And when the rubber met the road, the prosecutors did not charge anyone with sedition or under the Insurrection Act.
But Rivera refused to let these facts get in the way of attacking Carlson’s reporting.
Instead, Rivera demurred on if he asked anyone at Fox to censor the show.
“I don’t want to go there, that’s not my job,” Rivera added.
One of the most important lines of inquiry Nancy Pelosi’s handpicked commission refuses to investigate is the role federal informants played on January 6.
There is no debate government informants were in the crowd that day and participated in the riot.
A September 26 New York Times report stated there was at least one FBI informant in the crowd.
The Times reported:
As scores of Proud Boys made their way, chanting and shouting, toward the Capitol on Jan. 6, one member of the far-right group was busy texting a real-time account of the march.
The recipient was his F.B.I. handler.
Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray refuse to answer questions about the number of FBI informants in the crowd on January 6.
Garland also refused to answer questions about a January 5 video of a man named Ray Epps exhorting a crowd of Trump supporters to storm the Capitol the next day.
The Trump supporters booed and chanted “Fed!” at him.
After January 6 the FBI listed him as the #16 most wanted suspect from the riot.
But when Revolver News published an exposé about the FBI’s connection to groups involved in the riot the FBI deleted Epps from the list and erased all mentions of him.
These are the questions Carlson’s show aims to answer.
And another question now is why liberals like Rivera are criticizing Carlson for reporting on what happened on January 6.
