In recent months Fox News Channel’s coverage took on a very anti-Trump tone.
Many former viewers are wondering what happened.
Paul Ryan just revealed why Fox News turned on Trump.
Never Trump RINO and former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan is on the board of directors of Fox News.
Months ago, there was a report that Ryan was pushing Fox News executives to cut bait with President Trump and push the GOP to go back to the John McCain/Mitt Romney version of the Republican Party.
As Congress set to convene a joint session to vote on certifying the Electoral College results former Speaker Ryan released a statement lashing out at Trump supporters planning to object to the tally.
“All our basic rights and freedoms flow from a fidelity to the Constitution and rule of law. This principle is not only fundamentally American but a central tenet on conservatism. Under our system, voters determine the president, and this self-governance cannot sustain itself if the whims of Congress replace the will of the people. I urge members to consider the precedent that it would set,” Speaker Ryan ranted.
Ryan accused Republican senators and congressmen exercising their constitutional prerogative of acting as enemies of democracy.
“Efforts to reject the votes of the Electoral College and sow doubt about Joe Biden‘s victory strike at the foundation of our republic. It is difficult to conceive of a more anti-democratic and anti-conservative act than a federal intervention to overturn the results of state-certified elections and disenfranchise millions of Americans. The fact that this effort will fail does not mean it will not do significant damage to American democracy,” former Speaker Ryan added.
Speaker Ryan also falsely claimed that President Trump and his campaign provided no evidence of voter fraud.
Ryan also claimed that Joe Biden was the legitimate President and Republicans should accept that reality.
“The Trump campaign had ample opportunity to challenge election results, and those efforts failed from lack of evidence. The legal process was exhausted, and the results were decisively confirmed. The Department of Justice, too, found no basis for overturning the result. If states wish to reform their processes for future elections, that is their prerogative. But Joe Biden’s victory is entirely legitimate,” former Speaker Ryan concluded.
Ryan’s scathing attack on President Trump and his supporters that want to debate the merits of their allegations of voter fraud led many Americans to suspect there was more truth in the reports that Ryan was pushing Fox News to pivot away from President Trump.
Judging by the tone of Fox News Channel’s coverage of Donald Trump since election night it looks like the decision-makers at Fox News caved in to Ryan’s demands.
