Democrats are losing their minds over the upcoming Supreme Court term.
Liberals fear a loss in one major case above all.
And people will be furious when they see this Democrat threatening the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court heard oral arguments in the case of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health, which is the most direct challenge to Roe v. Wade in a generation as the matter before the court is the state of Mississippi’s ban on abortions after 15 weeks.
Democrats see six Republican-appointed justices on the Supreme Court and realize they are likely to lose this case.
The real question is the scope of the defeat.
Will the Supreme Court overturn Roe and eliminate abortion on demand in all 50 states?
Or will the justices settle for merely upholding the Mississippi ban on abortions after 15 weeks within the legal confines of the Roe decision?
Democrat Senator Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire is not messing around.
Shaheen is up for re-election next year and faces one of the most difficult campaigns of any incumbent.
In a virtual event with supporters Shaheen dipped in the successful playbook Democrats ran in the 2012 Obamacare case where Barack Obama bullied John Roberts into upholding the law with a series of public attacks.
Shaheen threatened revolution and civil unrest in the hopes of bullying justices like John Roberts and Brett Kavanaugh into upholding abortion on demand in America.
“I hope the Supreme Court is listening to the people of the United States because – to go back to Adam Sexton’s question – I think if you want to see a revolution go ahead, outlaw Roe v. Wade and see what the response is of the public, particularly young people,” Shaheen stated. “Because I think that will not be acceptable to young women or young men.”
Shaheen released a subsequent statement targeted at establishment figures Roberts and Kavanaugh falsely claiming overturning the wrongly decided Roe v. Wade case would lead to a wave of women dying in back-alley abortions.
“I’ve lived the consequences of the pre-Roe era – I had friends in college who were forced to seek dangerous back-alley abortions because women across the country were denied access to critical family planning services. We cannot allow Republican lawmakers to turn back the clock on women’s reproductive health and rights, which is precisely what the Mississippi case seeks to do. It is time to sound the alarm,” Shaheen baselessly claimed. “Roe v. Wade isn’t just a decision that impacts women, their health and their financial security – it also impacts generations of families.”
Democrats know they are outnumbered on the Supreme Court.
But Democrats won past cases where conservatives thought they held the advantage by running intense pressure campaigns to intimidate John Roberts into voting with the left.
And Shaheen’s threats of revolution in the streets looks to be the play Democrats are calling as the court prepares to hear the most important abortion case in a generation.
