Pope Francis has found himself under fire in recent months.
Scandals within the Catholic Church have made life difficult for him.
And he just got smacked with some terrible news.
Pope Francis’ Scandals
The Catholic Church is again on the radar for sexual abuse scandals.
Churches across the country are under fire for allegedly covering up sexual abuse allegations.
And many believe the cover-up goes as high up as the Vatican.
Now one State Senator in New Jersey wants to get to the bottom of it.
This means truly bad news for Pope Francis who’s already had a difficult year.
It was only a few years ago that sexual abuse scandals in the Church became prominent.
In the last seven decades, 1,000 cases of sexual abuse of children have been uncovered.
And if it is, in fact, true that the Vatican helped cover-up those cases, Pope Francis could find himself in a difficult spot.
Pope Francis And His Left-Wing Agenda
In the eyes of conservatives, Pope Francis has already lost their respect because of his progressive views.
The Pontiff has made his stance on several political issues well known.
He is a supporter of far-left efforts to fight against so-called “man-made” climate change.
He believes the government should redistribute wealth in order to fight “greed,” and claims should be the religious position Catholics take as well.
The Holy Father also takes a weaker tone on homosexuality and transgenders than traditional Catholics.
A Shocking Feud with Trump
However, what has angered conservative Catholics more than anything is that Francis has repeatedly attacked Trump.
While on the campaign trail, Pope Francis blasted Trump’s immigration policy.
Calling his border wall policy “not Christian,” he jumped into the political arena.
In the past, popes would avoid such contentious issues.
This All Spells Bad News For The Church
Pope Francis’ days are likely numbered.
Between the sexual abuse scandals and the controversy surrounding his left-wing policies, he’s facing a lot of heat.
It’s still unclear whether he cover up sexual abuse, nevertheless, he has been slow to take any action.
Only time will tell what comes of this.
