Democrats think that they can ignore a crisis which is hurting ordinary Americans.
But the problem is being sent right to their doorstep.
Republicans gave Kamala Harris a Christmas gift that sent her into fits of rage.
In the cold Christmas Eve three buses pulled up in front of the official residence of Vice President Kamala Harris.
They were filled with approximately 50 illegal immigrants.
The illegal migrants told 7 News DC reporter Christian Flores that they had come from Texas.
Video posted to social media by Flores showed the illegal immigrants picking up their belongings and boarding another bus destined for a local church.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has previously bused migrants to the vice president’s home and has overall sent 8,400 migrants to DC alone since April, NBC News reported earlier this month.
President Joe Biden put Harris in charge of tackling the problem of illegal immigration and she reported that she was working on the “root causes” of the surge in illegal immigration at the border.
She’s done nothing to fix the problem; since Biden and Harris took office there have been a record-breaking at least 5.5 million southern border encounters.
And the problem is about to get even worse when Title 42, a Trump-era immigration policy that allowed America to expel asylum seekers, ends.
But Harris is insisting that situation is still manageable.
NPR White House correspondent Asma Khalid asked Harris if the situation on the border would “become unsustainable in the weeks ahead.”
Harris responded, “Well, listen, I think that it is right to say that we need leadership on this issue, in particular from Congress. Now, the president and I and our administration, we are going to do everything that’s within our ability as the executive branch, and that means, again, putting more agents on the border as appropriate so that we can manage what might be an influx.
“It is about increasing the work that we have been increasing around arresting human smugglers,” Harris added. “And it is the work that we have been doing that has been about bringing the partners and the allies together on an international level, understanding that we are seeing these migration trends around the globe. And in particular, the work that we have done that has been about addressing the root causes of migration from, for example, the northern part of Central America, actually is having an impact.”
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has also insisted to reporters that the Biden Administration was “prepared.”
According to the Department of Homeland Security, an estimated 9,000 to 15,000 migrant crossings could occur each day once Title 42 expires.
