Special counsel Robert Mueller is leading a witch hunt against Donald Trump.
He’s been presented as the picture of ethics because of his former role as head of the FBI.
But his connections are just coming to light and they paint a disturbing picture for Trump.
Mueller is the definition of a swamp creature.
And he is doing the bidding of the swamp to get rid of Trump.
His finances became public and they show a well-connected web of deals with officials in Washington.
Mueller was a partner at a white-shoe law firm, a paid member of the speaking circuit where the likes of Goldman Sachs forked over big bucks for his time.
“When special counsel Robert Mueller took his new job in May, he gave up a law firm partnership where he made almost $3.5 million since the beginning of 2016, according to a financial disclosure released by the Justice Department on Tuesday.
Mueller’s client list from his former firm, WilmerHale, reads like a who’s who of America’s most prominent businesses, including Facebook, Apple, Intel, Sony Pictures, Booz Allen Hamilton and the National Football League.
Mueller was also on the paid-speaking circuit in recent years, addressing businesses like Goldman Sachs, charities and and lecture series, as well as lobbying groups like the Nuclear Energy Institute and the Insurance Information Institute.
Mueller’s speaking engagements brought him about $162,000 since the beginning of 2016, the report says. His most lucrative speech during that period was to the Mexican bank Banamex for $52,000.”
When Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein selected Mueller, he was presented as a straight- laced prosecutor who didn’t play favorites.
But that was far from the truth.
Mueller stacked his team with Hillary Clinton donors and certified Trump haters.
And he’s expanded his investigation to dig through financial and real estate transactions that took place years before Trump ran for President.
Recent reports indicate Mueller has impaneled a grand jury in Washington, D.C. – a city where Trump owns just four percent of the vote – to compel witness testimony and the production of documents.
Many Trump supporters believe this is the first move toward handing down indictments that will be timed to coincide with the 2018 midterms so the Democrats can win enough seats to cripple Trump or start working on impeachment.
Trump has repeatedly called Mueller’s investigation a witch hunt investigating a hoax.
In addition to Mueller’s hires, his web of financial ties to the Washington swamp should raise concerns.
He wasn’t selected because he was fair.
Mueller was put in this position because he could be counted on to hunt around for any infraction – no matter how minor or ancient – to use against Trump to force him from office or begin impeachment proceedings.
