New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez once again turned herself into a punchline.
This time it involved a public feud with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
And now Ron DeSantis crushed Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez with a truth people need to hear.
Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez found herself a figure of mockery after becoming the latest liberal politician that supports mask mandates and lockdowns to prove that there is no lockdown for the ruling class.
Photographs went viral on social media of Ocasio-Cortez and her boyfriend – neither of whom were wearing masks – partying in Florida.
Democrats routinely savage Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for rejecting COVID fascism and not implementing tyrannical mask and vaccine mandates.
DeSantis’ gubernatorial campaign Twitter account poked fun at Ocasio-Cortez for enjoying freedom from COVID mania on social media and Ocasio-Cortez responded by flouting the deranged conspiracy theory that Governor DeSantis abandoned his job and went missing for two weeks.
“Hasn’t Gov. DeSantis been inexplicably missing for like 2 weeks? If he’s around, I would be happy to say hello. His social media team seems to have been posting old photos for weeks. In the meantime, perhaps I could help with local organizing. Folks are quite receptive here,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote.
Ron DeSantis was not missing.
DeSantis spent time with his wife as she underwent intensive chemotherapy treatments following a diagnosis of breast cancer.
The governor’s office also emailed out his schedule every day listing the meetings and phone calls on DeSantis’ work agenda.
In a press conference, DeSantis responded to Ocasio-Cortez by jokingly stating that he could get rich if someone gave him a dollar for every Democrat politician from a lockdown state vacationing in Florida to avoid COVID mandates and restrictions.
“If I had a dollar for every lockdown politician who decided to escape to Florida over the last two years, I’d be a pretty dog-gone wealthy man, let me tell ya,” DeSantis stated.
DeSantis added that pro-lockdown politicians don’t really believe in their own policies because they don’t want to live under them as evidence by Democrats such as Ocasio-Cortez running to spend time in what is now known as the “free state of Florida” at the first opportunity.
“I mean, Congresspeople, mayors, governors, I mean, you name it. It’s interesting though, the reception that some of these folks will get in Florida,” DeSantis told reporters. “Because I think a lot of Floridians will say ‘Wait a minute, you’re bashing us because we’re not doing your draconian policies, and yet we’re the first place you want to flee to, to basically to be able to enjoy life. And so I’m not surprised to see that continue to happen.
“I could tell you, I mean, there are probably about half a dozen governors who had restrictions on their people and then were spotted at various points in Florida. Some of it’s been public. Some of it’s not been public,” DeSantis concluded.
