The coronavirus pandemic and subsequent economic recovery is sure to be the biggest issue in Donald Trump’s re-election campaign.
But one of President Trump’s biggest allies just left him speechless.
Now Rush Limbaugh sounded an alarm on how coronavirus will cost Trump the election.
So-called “health experts” like Dr. Anthony Fauci and other state officials claimed that lockdowns that choked off the American economy by forcing all “nonessential” workers in their homes for weeks on end were the only way to fight the spread of the coronavirus.
42 states went into lockdown from mid-March to early April.
The economic consequences were devastating, with 26 million Americans losing their jobs and the GDP contracting a projected 30 points in the second quarter.
But six weeks later, many states realize they face economic ruin and with the worst of the pandemic behind most of the country, they seem ready to reopen their economies.
These so-called “health experts” and many Democrats are terrifying the American people with scary stories about a second wave and dead bodies piling up if the American economy opens up too soon.
But if the economy does not open up in the very near future, there will be no economy for anyone to return to.
Fake news reporters pummel Donald Trump and Republican governors that wish to reopen their economies on a daily basis with more doomsday prophecies about what will happen if Americans go back to work.
This infuriated Rush Limbaugh.
And during a recent broadcast, Limbaugh claimed that ordering everyone to sit around in their houses in hopes of “stopping the spread” was a recipe for disaster.
If America wished to beat the disease – Limbaugh explained – it had to go on offense.
Limbaugh told his audience:
We’re not in any way attacking this. We’re not on offense at all. We are being entirely defensive, and that doesn’t defeat anything. “But, Rush! But, Rush! We’re talking about a contagious disease. We must avoid the spread.” Let me tell you something, folks. There is so much about this that I don’t think we have been truthfully told.
And I don’t know whether that it’s purposeful or not. I’m not gonna go into Conspiracyville. But Governor Cuomo yesterday was now telling us that far more people have been infected than they knew — and we know this is true in Santa Clara, California. It’s probably true in California at large. We know it’s true in LA County.
What Governor Kemp is doing is going on offense. Governor Kemp says, “We’re not gonna let this thing destroy us. We’re not gonna let this thing…” I mean, we’re sitting around and allowing this to happen! It’s actually worse than that. We are doing this to ourselves. This is the thing that just grates on me under the guise that we’re trying to do what?
Keep people from getting sick. The recovery rate remains 98%. You’re probably sick and tired of me saying that. But overall, what bothers me, folks, is that how long are we gonna sit down? How long are we going to shelter in place? To what end? “Well, Rush, we have to bend the curve, my man.”
So-called “health experts” sold Americans on flattening the curve because it would buy hospitals time to build capacity to handle any wave of infections that came their way.
But now the goal posts are shifting and these same so-called “experts” – as well as many Democrat governors – talk about “flattening the curve” to minimize infections on an ongoing basis.
If Donald Trump follows these so-called “experts’” advice, America will continue to play defense as Rush Limbaugh warned.
And Donald Trump will lose the election because the economy will never get back on track.
Great American Daily will keep you up to date on any new developments in this ongoing story.
