Democrats angled for years to force Rush Limbaugh off the air.
One surprise had everyone beside themselves.
And Rush Limbaugh was about to be replaced by the one person no one could believe.
Donald Trump holds a daily press briefing to update the American people on the administration’s progress.
But the President had another idea on how to communicate his message to the public.
And that would be a daily radio show with callers speaking directly to the President.
However, the President realized one giant drawback.
If President Trump held a daily radio show, it would compete directly with Rush Limbaugh’s radio show.
President Trump abandoned these plans when he realized that his show would siphon Limbaugh’s audience.
The New York Times exclusively reported:
On a Saturday in early March, Donald J. Trump, clad in a baseball cap, strode into the Situation Room for a meeting with the coronavirus task force. He didn’t stop by the group’s daily meetings often, but he had an idea he was eager to share: He wanted to start a White House talk radio show.
At the time, the virus was rapidly spreading across the country, and Mr. Trump would soon announce a ban on European travel. A talk radio show, Mr. Trump excitedly explained, would allow him to quell Americans’ fears and answer their questions about the pandemic directly, according to three White House officials who heard the pitch. There would be no screening, he said, just an open line for people to call and engage one-on-one with the president.
But that Saturday, almost as suddenly as he proposed it, the president outlined one reason he would not be moving forward with it: He did not want to compete with Rush Limbaugh.
The fake news media is furious that Donald Trump’s press conferences reach millions of Americans and allow the President to circumvent the liberal media framing.
Fake news networks like CNN and MSNBC routinely cut away from the President’s press conferences to provide “fact checks” which amount to liberal reporters attacking the President with Democrat Party talking points disguised as “facts.”
A radio show would have allowed the President to speak to a mass audience and eliminate the fake news media’s ability to censor the President’s message and repackage it in left-wing framing.
For his part, Rush Limbaugh welcomed the President hosting a radio show.
Limbaugh stated, “I think there’d be nobody better to fill my shoes than Donald Trump. I’ve often said nobody could, but if anybody could, it would be him. Here’s what the story says, and it’s got a picture of the president and me [at a] Trump rally in Cape Girardeau last November, the night before midterm elections. Well, it was 2018, not last year.”
Liberals would love to see Rush Limbaugh off the air.
But within five minutes of Trump hosting a daily radio show from the White House, Limbaugh’s left-wing critics would be begging for Rush to come back.
