All hell broke loose on Sean Hannity’s TV show.
Hannity had to call an end to the chaos.
It all went down when Rush Limbaugh’s replacement caused Sean Hannity a big headache on Fox News.
Popular conservative talk show host Dan Bongino was named to fill Rush Limbaugh’s time slot.
As part of Bongino’s growing media empire, he regularly appears on Sean Hannity’s program.
Many of these appearances involve debating Black Lives Matter’s anti-police agenda and riots.
Bongino and Geraldo Rivera most recently squared off over the Atlanta Police Department re-instating Officer Garrett Rolfe.
Last June, Officer Rolfe shot and killed Rayshard Brooksafter Brooks fought with another officer, stole a taser and then fired it at Officer Rolfe’s head.
Officer Rolfe defended himself by discharging his firearm three times, killing Brooks.
This shooing happened at the height of the Black Lives Matter insurrection and Black Lives Matter rioters responded by burning down the Wendy’s where the shooting took place.
The Atlanta Police Department fired Officer Rolfe and prosecutors responded to the mob violence by filing 11 criminal charges against Officer Rolfe.
Rivera bizarrely claimed the Atlanta Police Department did not fire Officer Rolfe.
“The action that was taken against the officer was something that was easily remedied and now has been,” Rivera claimed. “He is not being denied anything.”
“He was fired,” Bongino fired back. “Geraldo, he was fired.”
Bongino then questioned why Rivera would claim that the department firing Rolfe under threat of rioting was no big deal.
“So your suggestion here is, ‘Fire the guy because the mob said they’d burn the community down’?” Bongino asked Rivera.
“No. The firing of the officer did not materially harm the officer who was facing very serious criminal charges. He has a lot more on his plate than whether he has a job right now,” Riveraresponded.
Bongino could not believe Rivera claimed the department putting Rolfe on leave did not affect his life.
“Geraldo, seriously man. Have you been drinking? They fired the guy! What you mean they didn’t materially–they fired him! That was on his record! It was all over the news! If you put him in a search engine it shows–”Bongino began.
Rivera interjected claiming the 11 criminal charges still pending against Officer Rolfe were the larger issue.
“His firing is the least of his problems,” Rivera responded.
That was enough for Hannity to jump in and call a timeout.
“It’s about due process,” Hannity interrupted with before cutting the segment short.
Many Americans consider those criminal charges unjust as Officer Rolfe clearly defended himself.
Critics contend the prosecutors only filed charges out of fear that if they did not, Black Lives Matter would burn Atlanta to the ground.
Bongino’s strong defense of law enforcement is one reason his star rose so quickly in conservative media as his confrontations with Rivera—who usually criticizes police—often go viral.
This latest smack down will only add to that portfolio of social media-friendly content.
