Sean Hannity’s Fox News program is not the place viewers expect to see a defense of Joe Biden.
That’s why during a recent broadcast all hell broke loose.
And Sean Hannity flipped out when a Fox News star said one crazy thing about Joe Biden.
During a recent broadcast Hannity hosted Fox News contributors Geraldo Rivera and Judge Jeanine Pirro for a discussion on the possibility of Kyle Rittenhouse suing Joe Biden.
Last September Biden posted a campaign ad on Twitter with a caption falsely claiming Kyle Rittenhouse was a white supremacist.
Rittenhouse’s mother Wendy appeared on Hannity’s show during the final days of the trial and blasted Biden for defaming her son raising expectations that Rittenhouse would sue Biden for defamation.
During the segment, Rivera claimed Biden didn’t defame Rittenhouse because tens of millions of Americans that bought into the corporate media’s misinformation campaign about Rittenhouse also falsely claimed Rittenhouse was a white supremacist.
“The president’s statements kind of jibe with tens of millions of others, given the evidence and the facts that he had at that particular time,” Rivera stated.
That prompted Judge Jeanine Pirro to ask the obvious question.
“It’s okay to call somebody a white supremacist with no facts?” Pirro interjected.
Rivera then tried to distract from the issue at hand by attacking Rittenhouse’s original legal team for bringing Rittenhouse to a public event where members of the Proud Boys attended.
“May I finish the sentence?” Rivera responded. “The person that Rittenhouse should sue first is the guy who was his original attorney who sought to make a political statement who dragged this 17-year-old kid to the bar with the Proud Boys and allowed this narrative of white supremacy.”
Hannity was not about to let Rivera get away with ducking the question and demanded to know how Biden can call Rittenhouse – a private citizen – a white supremacist with no evidence to back up the charge.
“I want to know if you refer to somebody who is not a white supremacist and not a public figure, and you call them a white supremacist, that’s not defamation?” Hannity followed up.
Rivera tried to weasel out of answering the question by claiming critics call Hannity and Rivera nasty names every day.
“Sean, what you and I get called every day…” Rivera began.
Hannity shut that misleading statement down pointing out that under First Amendment case law the threshold level to prove defamation for public figures like Hannity and Rivera was far higher than for an ordinary citizen like Rittenhouse.
“He’s not a public figure,” Hannity fired back.
Rivera refused to yield.
“I can show you some of my emails following my appearances on this show!” Rivera answered.
Many Americans saw how blatantly Biden and other corporate media outlets lied about Rittenhouse.
In addition to Biden smearing Rittenhouse as a white supremacist, other media outlets like CBS, MSNBC and CNN made false statements about Rittenhouse being a murderer.
The Rittenhouse episode was another in a long line of stories – Russian collusion, Russian bounties, the Covington Catholic kids – where the corporate media lied to the public in order to advance a political agenda.
Joe Biden also piled on and potentially defamed Rittenhouse with his comments.
And Fox News viewers could not believe Riverawas defending Biden’s lies.
