The Obama Deep State is once again in Congressional investigators crosshairs.
New text messages show a foreign spy colluding with a high ranking Deep State agent.
And these bombshell communications reveal a secret Obama’s Deep State tried to bury.
The FBI’s relationship with ex-British spy Christopher Steele is one of the most controversial revelations of the 2016 campaign.
Steele, who was paid by Hillary Clinton’s campaign to dig up dirt on Donald Trump colluding with Russia – was also a confidential human source for the FBI.
The FBI even agreed to pay Steele to continue investigating Trump.
But that relationship was supposedly terminated after Steele had lied about his contacts with the press.
However, that isn’t what happened.
Steele continued to communicate with high ranking Justice Department Official Bruce Ohr – whose wife Nellie worked for Fusion GPS on the Trump dossier.
As Congress began to dig deeper into the relationship between Steele and the Department of Justice, the Justice Department put on a full court press to cover up their interactions.
On March 6, 2017, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley fired off a letter to the then FBI Director James Comey.
Grassley was seeking information about the FBI’s dealings with Steele, as well as how the Bureau made use of Steele’s controversial dossier.
The day after Grassley sent the letter, Steele texted Ohr in a panic that Congress could discover the truth about what went on.
“Would it be possible to speak later today, please? We’re very concerned by the Grassley letter and it’s possible implications for us, our operations and our sources. We need some reassurances,” Steele texted to Ohr.
And now Americans are learning what Steele was afraid would get out.
Steele and Ohr repeatedly emailed about a Putin-linked Oligarch named Oleg Deripaska and his ability to obtain a visa to enter the United States.
It has long been suspected that Deripaska was paying Steele while the ex-British spy was putting together the dossier.
Deripaska also sued former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort in January for $20 million in a dispute over a business deal.
Manafort was named in Steele’s dossier as an American who was colluding with the Russians.
Was Deripaska using Steele to grind a personal axe against Manafort over a business relationship gone wrong?
That question deserves to be answered.
Steele’s text to Ohr also raises red flags about a series of July emails between Steele and Ohr.
On July 1st, Steele emailed Ohr insisting they talk about a “business tycoon” whom many assume to be Donald Trump since that was around the time frame Steele began submitting reports on the dossier to the FBI.
Steele emailed Ohr, “I am seeing [redacted] in London next week to discuss ongoing business, but there is something separate I wanted to discuss with you informally and separately. It concerns our favourite business tycoon!”
Ohr’s calendar showed the two men spoke on July 7th for 30 minutes.
On July 29th, Steele emailed Ohr about setting up another meeting, and on July 30th, Ohr and his wife Nellie had breakfast with Steele.
The very next day, the FBI opened “Crossfire Hurricane” – the counterintelligence investigation into alleged Trump-Russia collusion.
Congressional Republicans have refused to buy into the fake news media narrative that the FBI acted normally and appropriately in the 2016 election.
And their investigations are bearing fruit.
Steele’s 2017 text to a high ranking Obama official expressing worry that his true relationship with the Deep State would come to light is proof that the Republicans leading this probe are on the right track.
