Democrats and the media are desperate to prove Donald Trump colluded with Russia during the 2016 campaign.
They want to use that storyline to impeach Trump and remove him from office.
So no one could believe what the FBI finally revealed about the Trump campaign colluding with Russia.
The collusion narrative picked up steam when CNN reported on – and Buzzfeed published – the Christopher Steele/Fusion GPS “Trump-Russia” dossier.
The former British intelligence agent – whose work was paid for by the Clinton campaign – produced a document with explosive claims that Trump campaign officials had colluded with Russia during the 2016 election.
Trump immediately declared the dossier as fake news.
But the media latched onto the one or two kernels of truth in the memo to keep the collusion hoax alive.
Now the FBI just dealt a serious blow to their narrative after officials told Congress they have not been able to verify the claims of collusion in the dossier.
The Washington Examiner reports:
“FBI and Justice Department officials have told congressional investigators in recent days that they have not been able to verify or corroborate the substantive allegations of collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign outlined in the Trump dossier.
The FBI received the first installment of the dossier in July 2016. It received later installments as they were written at the height of the presidential campaign, which means the bureau has had more than a year to investigate the allegations in the document. The dossier was financed by the Hillary Clinton campaign and compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele.
An August 24, 2017 subpoena from the House Intelligence Committee to the FBI and Justice Department asked for information on the bureau’s efforts to validate the dossier. Specifically, the subpoena demanded “any documents, if they exist, that memorialize DOJ and/or FBI efforts to corroborate, validate, or evaluate information provided by Mr. Steele and/or sub-sources and/or contained in the ‘Trump Dossier.'”
According to sources familiar with the matter, neither the FBI nor the Justice Department has provided documents in response to that part of the committee’s subpoena. But in face-to-face briefings with congressional staff, according to those sources, FBI and DOJ officials have said they cannot verify the dossier’s charges of a conspiracy between the Russian government and the Trump campaign.
The news appears to contradict recent statements from some top Democrats. “A lot of it has turned out to be true,” Rep. Adam Schiff, ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence panel, told the Wall Street Journal on Wednesday.”
The media has destroyed whatever credibility it had left by pushing this fake news.
Clinton and her advisors quickly developed this collusion storyline as an excuse for her loss.
Members of the media accepted it as fact because they always take on face-value claims made by Democrats.
They saw no reason to scrutinize these claims because they hate Trump and Hillary was their candidate. They all expected her to win so they needed to rationalize her loss.
But after over a year’s worth of investigations, no evidence of collusion exists.
And now the FBI has admitted they have found nothing to back up the sensational claims that Trump officials coordinated with the Russians to rig the 2016 election.
