Black-clad, masked thugs have been terrorizing American cities for years.
Known as “Antifa,” they have spent years violently shutting down conservative speakers.
But because of one thing that happened, President Trump may be on the verge of labeling them a terrorist organization.
The far-left group has been in the public eye for a string of violent assaults on free speech.
Most notably, they were placed in the public eye earlier this year for using extreme force to shut down a conservative speaker at the University of California, Berkeley.
Many people have become fed up.
So much so that there is now an official White House petition urging President Trump to recognize Antifa as a terrorist organization.
The petition was filed on the White House petition website by someone going only by the initials “M.A.”
The text on the petition reads:
“Terrorism is defined as “the use of violence and intimidation in pursuit of political aims”. This definition is the same definition used to declare ISIS and other groups, as terrorist organizations. AntiFa has earned this title due to its violent actions in multiple cities and their influence in the killings of multiple police officers throughout the United States. It is time for the pentagon to be consistent in its actions – and just as they rightfully declared ISIS a terror group, they must declare AntiFa a terror group – on the grounds of principle, integrity, morality, and safety.”
The petition has been signed by over 250,000 people, and is growing by the minute.
It is now one of the most signed White House petitions listed on the White House website.
The minimum to receive a response from the White House is 100,000 signatures, so a response is expected from the White House.
The response could come along with a declaration that Antifa is in fact a terrorist organization.
President Trump has a lot of first-hand experience with Antifa.
Antifa militants were seen at Trump’s inauguration in January, where they assaulted police officers, smashed business’s windows, and burned cars and trash cans.
They have also been seen at many of his famous rallies, like in Chicago where a rally was forced to be cancelled after being flooded by violent left-wing radicals.
Following the violence in Charlottesville, the President not only scolded the violent racists and neo-Nazis, he criticized what he calls the “alt-left” for their violence.
Trump faced immense criticism for mentioning how the violence was not simply on one side.
The left downright refused to accept the President stating the fact that Antifa did initiate much of the violence in Charlottesville.
And during his recent rally in Arizona, President Trump called them out by name, stating:
“You know, they show up in the helmets and the black masks and they’ve got clubs, they’ve got everything,” he said, calling out their name — “Antifa!”
Antifa is the mostly violent wing of the left; they dress in all black with masks covering their faces in order to allow them to commit violence without getting caught.
It is unclear if President Trump will respond by labeling them a terrorist group, but it is becoming clear that left-wing violence will only get worse in the foreseeable future.
Do you think Antifa should be labeled as a terrorist organization?
