Throughout virtually the entire 2016 presidential election, the left couldn’t get enough of the discredited Trump/Russia conspiracy theory.
One of the lead architects of this theory was John Podesta, Hillary Clinton’s former campaign chairman.
And recently, information about John Podesta’s very own connection to Russia has come to light, and it is shocking proof of his hypocrisy.
It would be no surprise to most Americans to hear that someone in Hillary Clinton’s network did something hypocritical.
Hillary has shamelessly flip-flopped on countless issues based on political expedience.
But this act of hypocrisy is at a new level.
The Podesta Group, run by John Podesta’s brother Tony, belatedly filed several new disclosures with the Justice Department.
These disclosures show that the group, founded by John Podesta, did work on behalf of a pro-Russia Ukrainian think tank.
As reported by Washington Examiner:
“The Podesta Group belatedly filed several new disclosures with the Justice Department on Aug. 17 related to work the firm completed between 2012 and 2014 on behalf of a pro-Russia Ukrainian think tank.
Back in April, the powerful Washington lobbying firm run by Clinton ally Tony Podesta filed a document admitting its work for the pro-Russia European Centre for a Modern Ukraine may have principally benefited a foreign government. New disclosures revealed dozens of previously unreported interactions the firm made with influential government offices, including Hillary Clinton’s State Department and the office of former Vice President Joe Biden, while lobbying on behalf of the center. Embattled ex-Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort failed to disclose his extensive lobbying efforts on behalf of the center at the time as well.
Anyone lobbying or doing public relations on behalf of foreign governments is required to register as a foreign agent in compliance with the Foreign Agents Registration Act. The Aug. 17 filings include short-form registration statements for six Podesta Group employees and an amendment to the firm’s registration statement that includes a list of political contributions made by relevant employees throughout 2013.”
This is an extreme act of hypocrisy coming from a man who led a year-long witch-hunt trying to prove that Donald Trump had connections to Russia.
Virtually everyone knows that politics is dirty, but this is low even for the left.
He was so incensed on attacking Trump, he didn’t even care to consider his own connections to Russia.
Even after the election, Podesta continues to target Trump on this conspiracy theory.
Podesta was recently interviewed by the House Intelligence Committee relating to the Russia election fraud investigation.
At the hearing, Podesta continued to claim that his email account was hacked by Russia.
That is despite the immense amount of proof that it more than likely wasn’t Russia, and even if it was, there is no way to be certain.
His account was hacked through his own incompetence.
All the “hackers” who stole his password did was send a fraudulent email telling him to enter his password into a shady website.
Regardless, Podesta and his cronies will continue to blame anyone besides themselves for their incompetence.
