Democrats thought they had a plan in place to swing the 2022 midterm election in their favor.
But liberals got some bad news.
And the Supreme Court decided this major election case that had Donald Trump grinning from ear to ear.
Democrats spent the last year screaming about “gerrymandering” – the practice of state legislatures drawing congressional district maps every 10 years following the census.
What worries Democrats is Republicans control more state legislatures and GOP majorities will not draw maps that make it easier for Democrats to win elections.
Democrats have a plan to rig elections in GOP-run states.
Liberal activists sue to block GOP maps counting on liberal judges to order maps more favorable to Democrats.
That’s exactly what happened in Alabama.
Alabama Republicans drew a new map dividing Alabama’s eight congressional districts, seven favoring the GOP and one leaning Democrat.
Democrats claimed Republicans drawing a 63 percent majority black district diluted the power of black voters by not breaking that district up so Democrats could win two districts instead of one.
A lower court ruled in favor of the liberal activists and demanded Alabama redraw a new map.
The state of Alabama sued, and the Supreme Court blocked the order leaving the GOP map in place.
Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh wrote that with primaries approaching states and voters needed to get their maps and voting procedures in place.
“Filing deadlines need to be met, but candidates cannot be sure what district they need to file for. Indeed, at this point, some potential candidates do not even know which district they live in. Nor do incumbents know if they now might be running against other incumbents in the upcoming primaries,” Kavanaugh wrote. “When an election is close at hand, the rules of the road must be clear and settled.”
Democrats successfully gamed the redistricting system by using partisan judges to force more Democrat friendly maps in North Carolina and Ohio.
Meanwhile Democrats abused so-called “nonpartisan” commissions in New York and Illinois to nuke GOP districts out of existence.
Donald Trump blasted Republicans for failing to fight back against Democrats rigging the redistricting process in their favor.
“Republicans are getting absolutely creamed with the phony redistricting going on all over the Country. Even the Fake New York Times is having a hard time believing how ridiculous things have gotten. We were expecting to do well in New York and now, we’ll lose 4 seats and the Old Broken-Down Crow, Mitch McConnell, sits back and does nothing to help the Party. The only thing the Democrats are good at is cheating on elections, and the proof is out for everybody to see but hold on, you haven’t seen anything yet!” Trump wrote.
Republicans like Donald Trump hope the Supreme Court leaving the Alabama map in place is the start of a trend where the GOP fights back against the left’s scheme to game the redistricting process.
