The bad news continues to pour in for Democrats in the Arizona gubernatorial election.
Republican Kari Lake is pulling ahead in the polls.
And now the Supreme Court handed Kari Lake a devastating victory that will leave Democrats in tears.
Trump-endorsed Kari Lake continues to run a strong campaign.
Lake’s Democrat opponent Secretary of State Katie Hobbs is turning out to be the biggest dud of the election cycle.
Hobbs refuses to debate Lake and even runs and hides in the bathroom rather than answer questions.
Democrats don’t want Hobbs on stage with Lake as Lake is an accomplished TV anchor with megawatt charisma, made-for-TV timing and the ability to communicate her conservative vision in an appealing and forceful way.
Now Hobbs has another problem on her hands.
Hobbs’ incompetence in office as the secretary of state is now becoming an issue as Arizonans can see that Hobbs flopped in the office she planned to use as a stepping stone to the governor’s mansion.
In her role as chief elections officer Hobbs oversaw a number of disasters this cycle including mailing out 6,000 ballots to voters that only listed federal races.
Now a case where the Arizona State Supreme Court called Hobbs out on the carpet for bungling an online portal to circulate petitions to get initiatives on the ballot is calling into question Hobbs’ ability to carry out her duties.
At issue in this case is the fact that the Arizona Secretary of State’s Office did not post a working online portal for individuals circulating petitions to register with the state.
“By also refusing to accept manual submission of a hard copy affidavit… the SOS rendered it impossible for circulators to successfully submit a registration application… if they had already registered to circulate other petitions,” the ruling read.
“We have every expectation that the SOS will remedy deficiencies in the submission of information through the Circulator Portal and accommodate the manual submission of required information in the interim,” the opinion continued.
Lake’s campaign put out a statement ripping Hobbs for asking Arizonans to promote her to governor after failing miserably in her role as secretary of state.
“Katie Hobbs’ incompetence in running Arizona’s elections is so obvious that even the Arizona Supreme Court had to take the unprecedented move to call her out for her errors,” the Lake campaign declared.
“Given that Hobbs hasn’t even shown up to work for months, and that just last week thousands of voters were mailed faulty ballots, why should any Arizonan trust her to successfully administer this election? This is why Kari Lake continues to call for Hobbs to recuse herself from overseeing the 2022 elections – no Secretary of State should be in charge of the same election that he or she is running in,” the statement added.
Arizona voters are taking notice.
The latest poll out from a Democrat firm shows Lake widening her lead to four points over Hobbs.

Lake winning was once unthinkable for Democrats and the corporate media.
But now many accept it as inevitable.
