Joe Biden is struggling to carry out his basic duties as president.
And major steps are being taken so he doesn’t embarrass Democrats in public.
There’s one key fact about Joe Biden the White House won’t reveal at any cost.
As President Joe Biden celebrates his 80th birthday this month, his embarrassing gaffes are becoming ever more constant.
The White House is careful to keep spontaneous interaction between him and the public to a minimum.
Biden openly acknowledged to the press that he would be sticking to his predetermined list of reporters for questions.
“Now, I’ve been given a list of ten people that I’m supposed to call on and you’re all supposed to ask me one question, but I’m sure you’ll ask me more. So let me start off with the list I’ve been given,” Biden told reporters.
He called on The Associated Press, CBS News, CNN, Reuters, ABC News, Bloomberg, The Grio, NBC News and The New York Times.
This isn’t the first time Biden has admitted to using a preselected list. In August 2021 he told the press he was “instructed” on which reporters to call on.
“Ladies and gentlemen, they gave me a list here. The first person I was instructed to call on was Kelly O’Donnell from NBC,” Biden said as he kicked off the press conference.
The White House refused to answer on why the president has a list, and what determines which reporters get on the list.
“Eh, not sharing. I don’t have anything to share with you on that,” Olivia Dalton, White House principal deputy press secretary, said when questioned by The Daily Caller.
When asked again she repeated that the White House does “not want to say” what determines who is on the list.
“I don’t have anything to share with you on that,” Dalton repeated.
It’s unsurprising that Biden’s press conferences are carefully controlled.
Biden could barely even read what was on his teleprompter during his Friday appearance at the United Nations.
“Our significant climate investment will, quote, turbo-charge the murg — the ener — the, ener —excuse me — turbo-charge the emerging global clean ener — clean energy economy!” Biden said, adding a brief apology and apparently blaming the teleprompter for his difficulties. “I was reading their quote. Sorry!”
Biden continued to struggle through his remarks.
“I came into the presidency determined to be trans — to make the trans-reformative, transformational changes that are needed. That America needs to make,” he said, adding, “And we have to do for the rest of the world, to overcome decades of opposition and obstacles to progress on this issue alone. To re-establish the United States as a trustworthy committed global leader on climate.”
