The bad news is piling up for Democrats.
One race that Democrats thought was off the board is now a full-on debacle.
And this candidate dropping out of the race was the November surprise that sent Democrats into panic mode.
Libertarian candidate Marc Victor announced he was dropping out of the Arizona Senate race and endorsing Blake Masters.
“I found Blake to be generally supportive of the Live and Let Live Global Peace Movement,” Victor’s endorsement statement read. “After that discussion, I believe it is in the best interests of freedom and peace to withdraw my candidacy and enthusiastically support Blake Masters for United States Senate.”
Masters’ campaign cheered the Victor endorsement as another sign that the momentum in the race was on his side.
“This is another major boost of momentum as we consolidate our support,” a statement Masters’ campaign released after the Victor endorsement declared.
Polling also showed Masters surging against Mark Kelly.
On September 27, the Real Clear Politics polling average showed Kelly leading Masters by 6.2 percent.
The GOP establishment left Masters for dead.
RINO Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell pulled all of the Senate Leadership Fund Super PAC’s TV ads from Arizona – over $10 million – because McConnell wanted Masters to lose.
McConnell hoped a Masters loss would send a message that nominating Trump-supporting conservatives like Blake Masters would throw away winnable races.
In 2024, McConnell planned to hold Masters out as a cautionary tale and warn Republicans to line up behind Mitt Romney and Liz Cheney-type RINOs.
But then the election turned after Masters thrashed Kelly in their one debate by showing Arizona voters that Kelly was no moderate.
Masters took Kelly to task for rubber stamping Joe Biden’s open borders agenda and trillions in socialist spending which triggered the 40-year high in inflation.
The polls quickly turned.
When Victor dropped out of the race and endorsed Masters the Real Clear Politics polling average found Kelly leading by just 2.3 points.
But the most recent polling data showed a tie.
A Fox News poll taken from October 26 to October 30 showed Kelly up on Masters 47 to 46 percent.
However, the tracking in the Fox News polling showed undecided voters breaking towards Masters.
In the September Fox News poll of the Arizona Senate contest Kelly led Masters 47 to 42 percent.
By October Kelly’s support was unchanged but undecided voters broke towards Masters.
This race figures to be very close.
And Marc Victor was only polling at one percent when he quit the race and endorsed Masters.
However, the Arizona Senate race looks like it will come down to the margins and if even .6 percent of Victor’s supporters vote for Masters it could prove decisive.
