The Deep State continues to press forward with their illegal leak campaign.
The latest bombshell development in this case could lead to criminal charges.
And it’s bad news for Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
The Treasury Department Inspector General announced it was opening a leak investigation into how Stormy Daniels’ attorney ended up with records of suspicious financial transactions relating to Trump lawyer Michael Cohen.
Michael Avenatti – Daniels attorney – published a dossier of alleged transactions to Cohen from various companies in an effort to prove that Cohen broke the law.
But Avenatti may be over his skis.
The feds are now probing the leak to see how he obtained this confidential information.
The New York Post reports:
“The Treasury Department’s inspector general is investigating whether confidential banking information related to President Trump’s personal lawyer Michael Cohen was leaked, the Washington Post reported Wednesday.
Rich Delmar, a counsel to the IG, said that in response to media reports, the office was “inquiring into allegations” that Suspicious Activity Reports on Cohen’s banking transactions were “improperly disseminated.”
Michael Avenatti, the lawyer for porn star Stormy Daniels, released a summary of the information Tuesday, showing that a number of companies, including one connected to a Kremlin-linked Russian billionaire, paid Cohen’s firm more than $1 million, supposedly for assorted services.
Avenatti declined to reveal the source of his information during an interview with the DC paper.
“The source or sources of our information is our work product, and nobody’s business,” Avenatti said.”
The news of this leak investigation raises serious questions about Attorney General Jeff Sessions and his job performance.
It took less than 24 hours for the Treasury Department to turn around and launch an investigation into this illegal leak.
Meanwhile, it has been almost 18 months since the Deep State illegally leaked to the Washington Post the fact that Michael Flynn was picked up on surveillance speaking to the Russian Ambassador.
That criminal leak kicked off the collusion feeding frenzy, yet there has not been a peep from Sessions or the DOJ about identifying and prosecuting that leaker.
Trump supporters are wondering how Sessions can sit on his hands while the Deep State continues to push forward with their plot to remove his boss from office.
Sessions’ loyalty is supposed to be to the Constitution and our democratic principles.
And chief among those is the ability of the people to choose their leaders.
By not identifying and prosecuting leakers, Sessions is allowing shadowy forces within the government to attack our democracy and scheme to undo a free and fair Presidential election.
If the Treasury Department can swiftly launch a leak probe, then that means there should be nothing stopping Sessions from doing the same to bring the Flynn leaker(s) to justice.
