The debate over Civil War monuments is raging across America.
Radical leftists are demanding all Confederate statues be torn down.
But one CNN commentator took things to an unthinkable level.
Journalists and Democrats claim they only want to take down statues that honor the Confederacy.
They insist the statues are monuments that glorify racism, but have no interest in tearing down statues of Founding Fathers like George Washington and Thomas Jefferson even though they were slave owners.
That lie got put to rest.
CNN political analyst Angela Rya declared that statues memorializing George Washington should come down too now.
Mediaite reports her saying:
“The heart of the problem is the way many of us were taught American history. American history is not all glorious. I love John to death, I couldn’t disagree more about George Washington. George Washington was a slave owner. We need to call slave owners out for what they are. Whether we think they were protecting American freedom or not. He wasn’t protecting my freedom. I wasn’t someone – my ancestors weren’t deemed human beings to him. To me, I don’t care if it’s a George Washington statue or a Thomas Jefferson statue or a Robert E. Lee statue, they all need to come down…I’m calling out white supremacy for what it is. And sometimes, what it is, John, are blind spots. Sometimes what it is, is not acknowledging this country was built upon a very violent past that resulted in the death and the raping and the killing of my ancestors. I’m not going to allow us to say it’s okay for Robert E. Lee but not a George Washington. We need to call it what it is.”
This is exactly the slippery slope Donald Trump warned of.
Sad to see the history and culture of our great country being ripped apart with the removal of our beautiful statues and monuments. You…..

…can't change history, but you can learn from it. Robert E Lee, Stonewall Jackson – who's next, Washington, Jefferson? So foolish! Also…

…the beauty that is being taken out of our cities, towns and parks will be greatly missed and never able to be comparably replaced!

A core tenant of liberalism is that America is a bigoted nation that must be fundamentally changed as the only recourse for its racist past.
Tearing down monuments and destroying our history – both good and bad – is how liberals will erase what America has always stood for as part of their quest to undo the American experiment.
