Democrats across the country are gearing up for the 2020 Presidential race.
Liberals believe they have a chance to defeat Donald Trump.
And one of the Democrats top contenders to defeat Donald Trump just ended his career with these five words.
A Top Democrat Goes Down In Flames
Pundits ranked New York Governor Andrew Cuomo as one of the top challengers to Donald Trump in 2020.
Cuomo owns a far-left policy record, as well as the ability to raise money that would vault him to the top of any list of potential Democratic nominees.
But that all flew out the window after one speech.
The New York Governor was delivering remarks at a bill-signing ceremony when he declared, “We’re not going to make America great again — it was never that great”
“We have not reached greatness. We will reach greatness when every American is fully engaged. We will reach greatness when discrimination and stereotyping against women — 51 percent of our population — is gone and every woman’s full potential is realized and unleashed,” Cuomo concluded.
Politicians use events like these to test their campaign trail talking points.
Cuomo is seeking a third term this November and hopes to use it as a springboard for a 2020 Presidential bid.
However, Hollywood actress Cynthia Nixon is staging a primary challenge that threatens Cuomo from the left.
Cuomo knows liberals hate America, but he bumbled into a massive gaffe by expressing that truth aloud.
Cuomo’s remarks quickly became national news, and shortly after 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Cuomo spokeswoman Dani Lever issued a statement tempering the governor’s earlier comments.
“The governor believes America is great and that her full greatness will be fully realized when every man, woman, and child has full equality. America has not yet reached its maximum potential,” Lever attempted to explain. “When the president speaks about making America great again — going back in time — he ignores the pain so many endured and that we suffered from slavery, discrimination, segregation, sexism and marginalized women’s contributions. The governor believes that when everyone is fully included and everyone is contributing to their maximum potential, that is when America will achieve maximum greatness.”
President Trump Responds
President Trump blasted Cuomo’s remarks in a series of tweets:
“Which is worse, Hightax Andrew Cuomo’s statement, “WE’RE NOT GOING TO MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, IT WAS NEVER THAT GREAT” or Hillary Clinton’s “DEPLORABLES” statement…”
“…I say Andrew’s was a bigger and more incompetent blunder. He should easily win his race against a Super Liberal Actress, but his political career is over!”
Democrat politicians usually try to at least pretend they love America.
But ever since Trump won the election, the left has become more unhinged and speak their minds with reckless abandon.
Cuomo wants to win the Democrat nomination in 2020, so he tried to win over the party’s anti-American base.
But by courting the radical fringe movement of the Democrat Party, he ended up killing his appeal to the broader voting public.
Do you agree that Andrew Cuomo’s career is over?
