Trey Gowdy’s clash with the Deep State is coming to a conclusion.
He is about to blow the Obama Deep State cover-up wide open.
And now Gowdy is set to hold one closed-door meeting that could change Donald Trump’s life forever.
Trey Gowdy Holds Closed Door Meeting With Top Deep State Operative
Republicans demanded Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein testify before Congress after the shocking story that he suggested wearing a wire to record Donald Trump and use the 25th Amendment to remove him from office came out.
At first, Rosenstein refused to appear to testify.
Republicans accused him of trying to run out the clock until after the midterm elections.
They believed Rosenstein was waiting for the Democrats to win the House so they could kill the probe into Obama’s Deep State trying to destroy Donald Trump.
But Rosenstein finally agreed to appear before Congress.
However, he will do so under limited conditions.
Only four members of Congress will interview Rosenstein—Republicans Trey Gowdy and Bob Goodlatte, and Democrats Jerry Nadler and Elijah Cummings.
No other lawmakers will be allowed in the room.
Conservatives Object To These Conditions
Conservatives and Trump supporters in Congress are furious.
They smell a cover-up.
The Daily Caller got the exclusive comment from Ohio Congressman – and founding member of the House Freedom Caucus – Jim Jordan.
The Daily Caller reports:
“Totally unacceptable,” is how Ohio Republican Rep. Jim Jordan described the agreement between Rosenstein and the chairmen of the House Judiciary and House Oversight Committees.
“This is just another example of the double standard where there’s one set of rules for us regular folk but a different set if you’re part of the politically connected class,” Jordan told The Daily Caller News Foundation.
Republican Congressman and chair of the House Freedom Caucus, Mark Meadows, tweeted:
Rod Rosenstein declines to show up before Congress and then asks for special treatment. He wants his interview to be private, in a SCIF, with multiple members excluded.
There should be NO double standard. Show up and tell the truth under the same conditions as everyone else.
The Daily Caller also reported on Jordan’s response that Rosenstein wanted to use the 25th Amendment to remove Trump from office:
Rosenstein has said he was joking about wearing a wire and never discussed deposing Trump. For his part, Trump appears to have accepted Rosenstein’s story. Trump has said that after speaking with Rosenstein about the allegations, he has no plans to fire the DOJ no. 2, who is overseeing the special counsel’s Russia investigation.
“The guy who’s running the Justice Department doesn’t get to tell a separate equal branch of government the conditions for his testimony, especially when it’s been alleged he was thinking bout recording the Commander in Chief and then invoking the 25th Amendment,” Jordan told TheDCNF.
Rosenstein claimed he was just being sarcastic when he suggested wearing a wire to record Trump.
But not everyone is willing to take him at his word.
Americans eagerly anticipate this closed-door interview.
However, they would like to see all members of the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees question him.
We will keep you up to date on any new developments in this ongoing story.
