Joe Biden’s presidency entered its roughest stretch.
The administration tried to spin to the public that all was well.
But Trey Gowdy lowered the boom on Joe Biden with this devastating reality check.
The Biden administration completed its military withdrawal from Afghanistan by Joe Biden’s self-imposed deadline of August 31.
Biden ordered the withdrawal knowing full well that by doing so Biden abandoned American citizens to potential captivity or death.
The administration claimed the Taliban guaranteed safe passage out of the country for Americans, but the Taliban is not the only radical Islamic group in Afghanistan.
Before the U.S. military left Afghanistan, the Taliban freed thousands of ISIS-K fighters from prison.
One of these ISIS-K terrorists staged the attack that killed 13 American soldiers in a suicide bombing at the Kabul airport.
And Joe Biden has no agreement from ISIS to ensure the safety of Americans the administration deserted in Afghanistan.
Former Congressman Trey Gowdy explained to Fox News’“Special Report” that leaving Americans behind with murderous ISIS terrorists prowling around Afghanistan could amount to a death sentence.
Right, Bret, which is why this August 31st deadline that he will not budge from makes absolutely no sense. And just in case people are not familiar with ISIS-K, that’s a new name. Bret, that’s the group that went to the maternity ward of a hospital and killed infants and new mothers. That’s who was let out of prisoner.
That’s who is left in Afghanistan. So why we are so hellbent on leaving August 31 when we have people that helped us behind, I don’t understand.
Gowdy admitted that his unwillingness to trust the Taliban put him in the minority of Americans that opposed withdrawing troops and ending the nation’s longest war.
Gowdy also explained:
Yes, Bret. I am in the minority, I think, in our country. Any withdrawal plan that is depending on the Taliban keeping its word or joining the 21st century, I think is a flawed plan. And it doesn’t matter whether it’s a Republican or a Democrat president. This is the group, I think, that still stones rape victims. And we are going to rely on them to make sure that Americans get out of Afghanistan and keep the law of order?
That’s the group that is keeping the law and order? They may be better than ISIS-K, but that ain’t saying much. Is-k kills newborns. That ain’t saying much.
Most Americans supported an end to the war in Afghanistan.
But they did not support the haphazard and poorly thought-out withdrawal plan the Biden administration concocted and executed.
And now Joe Biden gambled that the Taliban and ISIS-K won’t capture up to 250 American citizens and hold them hostage – or even worse.
