The Democrats know that they aren’t going to get away from this problem completely.
Someone has to be the fall guy.
Trey Gowdy revealed the person who will probably go to jail for Obama’s crimes.
It should be clear to all Americans that the FBI acted as a political player during the 2016 election.
But there’s one person in the FBI who was clearly partisan in his actions.
Peter Strzok worked for the FBI for 22 years and was a career employee.
He changed the description of the way Clinton’s emails were handled from “grossly negligent” to “extremely careless.”
While the words seem synonymous, that was a significant change since handling classified information in a “grossly negligent” way is illegal.
With just a simple change of words, Strzok got Clinton off the hook.
Strzok was trusted by James Comey and led the FBI investigation into the claims of Russian collusion and then worked for the Mueller investigation.
But what Strzok is most famous for is his text messages to his mistress, Lisa Page, who was also a member of the Mueller investigation.
In August 2016, Page said, “[Trump’s] not ever going to become president, right? Right?!”
“No. No he won’t. We’ll stop it,” Strzok responded.
Strzok has denied that his political opinions impacted his work in any way.
Strzok also said in a text message that there needed to be insurance in case Trump did win the election.
“I want to believe the path you threw out for consideration in Andy’s office that there’s no way Trump gets elected—but I’m afraid we can’t take that risk. It’s like an insurance policy in the unlikely event you die before you’re 40,” Strzok said.
Former Rep. Trey Gowdy thinks that U.S. Attorney John Durham’s inquiry into the Russia investigation is likely scrutinizing Strzok closely because of comments Attorney General William Barr made.
While conceding that he was not going after Barack Obama or his former Vice President Joe Biden, Barr did mention that “some of them” were already known to the public.
“Keep in mind. Peter Strzok, that I think is now a household name, has his fingerprints on every aspect of this,” Gowdy said to Fox News on Wednesday.
“From initiating it in the summer of 2016 to the Hillary Clinton investigation to Mueller to interviewing Michael Flynn,” he said. “So, Peter Strzok would be a name that I would listen for as Durham begins to wind up his work.”
Gowdy went on to say how important it is to make sure that the FBI is not abusing its powers.
“We give law enforcement and our intelligence community these awesome powers that no one else has: the power to indict and arrest and surveil and read emails. And all he [Barr] is asking in return is that you be a good steward and that there be a factual predicate when you investigate, whether it’s a potential president or your neighbor next door,” Gowdy said.
