Nancy Pelosi made a serious error in judgement that is going to cost her big.
She’s wildly scrambling to fix the mess she caused.
Trey Gowdy said ten words to Nancy Pelosi that made her go ballistic.
According to Rep. Eric Swalwell, the Democratic leadership knew about his involvement with a Chinese spy.
Swalwell associated from 2011 to 2015 with Fang Fang, a Chinese agent, who helped his political career with her fundraising, charm and networking within the Democratic Party.
According to Fox News host Tucker Carlson, the relationship between them was sexual.
Swalwell has refused to confirm or deny the allegations, claiming that the relationship could be “classified.”
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi defended Swalwell saying “I don’t have any concern about Mr. Swalwell.”
“In terms of Mr. Swalwell, in the Spring of 2015, the leadership of the Congress, of the House, and the Committee, were informed that overtures from a Chinese person were being made to members of Congress,” Pelosi continued. “When that was made known to the members of Congress it was over.”
Pelosi isn’t even planning to remove Swalwell from the House Intelligence Committee.
Former Republican South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy questioned how Pelosi couldn’t manage to find someone better.
“You can’t find one that wasn’t dating a Chinese Spy?” Gowdy asked in an appearance Friday with Fox News host Harris Faulkner.
The segment started with a clip of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy asking whether Swalwell should be allowed to stay on the Intelligence Committee.
“Congressman Swalwell has yet to explain what his relationship was with the suspected spy. This feels like, Trey, this just got a little bit more heated, more important to pay attention to,” Faulkner said.
“It’s the hardest committee in all of Congress to get on,” Gowdy replied, noting that members of Congress and even the Intelligence Committee are not required to go through background checks and they are frequently privy to classified information. This, he explained, was why the Speaker and the minority leader were so careful to choose the right people.
“Kevin is 100% right. There are 230 members of the House. You can’t find one that wasn’t dating a Chinese spy?” Gowdy asked. “Out of all 230, you can’t find a single member on the Democrat side that wasn’t involved in a relationship, which he won’t even tell us what it was, Harris. He won’t say whether he was sleeping with her or not. He says it’s classified. How? How is that classified, Eric? I mean you want people to not find out about it but it’s not classified.”
Gowdy said that Swalwell was on the committee because he was a “loyal acolyte” to Pelosi and Democratic California Rep. Adam Schiff.
Gowdy promised, having worked with Swalwell, that he was replaceable.
Pelosi would have replaced Swalwell long ago if she had had America’s best interests at heart.
