Trey Gowdy is on the warpath.
The former South Carolina Congressman emerged as one of the most aggressive critics of the Democrats and their scheme to bring down President Trump.
And now Trey Gowdy went on Fox News. What he said about Barack Obama left viewers in silence.
Democrats are making two claims in their impeachment witch hunt.
The first is that President Trump engaged in an unprecedented abuse of power.
And second, Democrats claim they need to hear new witness testimony to beef up their case.
Gowdy tore these arguments to pieces during an appearance on Sean Hannity’s Fox News Channel TV program.
Many Constitutional scholars raised serious questions about the Democrats’ two articles of impeachment.
The first accused the President of “abuse of power” – which any President is routinely accused of by their critics.
Gowdy noted the danger of that article by saying if the Senate goes along Presidents will now face impeachment that functions in similar fashion to a “vote of no confidence” mechanism found in European parliamentary systems.
“Part of impeachment is setting a precedent for what’s going to happen in the future,” Gowdy began.
Gowdy then went on to highlight the danger for Democrats in calling new witnesses, which Gowdy explained could end up with Barack Obama as an impeachment trial witness.
“So, if the vice president can make that assertion, then he is relevant as a witness, but so too is President Obama because I would want to know whether or not he had the authority of the president at the time he made that that pronouncement that there’ll be no loan guarantees unless the prosecutor is fired,” Gowdy explained to Hannity.
In a 2018 appearance at the globalist Council on Foreign Relations former Vice President Joe Biden thumped his chest about the time he blackmailed the Ukrainian government into firing a prosecutor that had been investigating Burisma – the corrupt energy company paying Hunter Biden $83,000 a month – or else lose out on a one billion dollars in American aid.
Gowdy went on to explain that if what President Trump stands accused of is an abuse of power then Obama should be called to testify to explain if he had advanced knowledge of Vice President Biden strongarming the Ukrainian government into firing a prosecutor that had been investigating a company that paid his son Hunter for influence.
“If President Obama gave Joe Biden permission to condition loan guarantees on the firing of a prosecutor, then that makes both of them potentially relevant as witnesses,” the former South Carolina Congressman concluded.
Gowdy detailing a blow by blow account of how opening the door to new testimony could lead to events spiraling out of control with former President Obama being called and the trial dragging on for weeks and months despite everyone knowing the ultimate outcome – the Senate will exonerate President Trump on a bipartisan basis.
Great American Daily will keep you up to date on any new developments in the Democrats ongoing impeachment witch hunt to remove President Trump from office.
