Trey Gowdy knows how to expose wrongdoers’ biggest secrets.
Now former Congressman Gowdy has China in his sights.
And Trey Gowdy went on Fox News and told this one truth that China fears the most.
Americans now know that the Chinese government lied about their total number of coronavirus cases and resulting deaths.
There are also reports that China’s official story about the virus originating in a Wuhan wet market is also likely fiction.
Chinese scientists published a credible paper that the virus escaped from a Wuhan laboratory as part of an experiment gone wrong.
China’s lies and negligence led to tens of thousands of deaths and over one million infections across the globe.
And there is growing sentiment that when this is all over, the United States government must force China to pay the price.
It is tempting to think America can leverage the courts or international institutions to ‘send China a bill’ and force the communist government to pay trillions in restitution for the economic catastrophe and loss of life the Chinese cover-up caused.
“There are international entities, whether it’s the United Nations, the World Health Organization, there’s the International Court of Justice, there are actually treaties that govern the interactions of countries as it relates to infectious disease. But those are toothless,” Gowdy began. “You’ve got the American courts, but you have to get around the Foreign Sovereign Immunity Act, and if you get around that, you’ve got proof problems. I mean, how is an individual American supposed to get information from China when the rest of the world cannot?”
But that did not mean the United States government was helpless to hold China accountable.
Instead, Gowdy said America could ‘hit them where it hurt’ by banning Chinese students from coming here to study and deducting what they should pay the world in restitution from what we owe them.
“The Trump administration doesn’t need to go to court to hold China accountable. You can hit them where it hurts the most. You can ostracize them on the world stage, quit letting their students come here and study, you can make them a pariah, but most importantly you can start deducting the amount of money we owe them and other countries owe them, deduct our costs including the loss of life, but all of the other costs, start deducting that, and then see what China’s reaction is,” Gowdy added.
Bill Evanina, Director of the National Counterintelligence and Security Center, said at the Aspen Institute that a percentage of the 350,000 Chinese students that come to America every year are spies.
Cutting off China from sending students to American universities would not only force China to pay a price for the coronavirus outbreak, it would also protect American national security.
The United States also owes China $1.07 trillion as part of our national debt.
Gowdy suggests the United States deducts from China what they owe for causing the coronavirus outbreak from that total.
There is growing momentum in America to exact a price from China for this global catastrophe.
And Trey Gowdy offered up some ideas as to how to make China pony up.
