President Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in 2016 by flipping states in the Midwest which were hit hard by the 2008 crash.
But President Obama promised Trump could never fix the biggest problem those states face.
And now, Trump just destroyed Obama’s big lie in one tweet.
Donald Trump stunned the world when he defeated Hillary Clinton in a surprise upset in 2016.
He managed to capture the White House after flipping states in the Midwest which had traditionally been Democratic bastions, such as Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.
His success in these states came from his promise to rebuild the American manufacturing industry, which had been destroyed over the past 20 years.
But when he was campaigning for the presidency in 2016, Trump was mocked by President Obama for his promise to bring manufacturing jobs back to America.
Obama said that Trump would have to wave a “magic wand” in order to bring manufacturing back from the steep decline it experienced since the 1960s.
He thought he was belittling Trump at the time, but recent numbers show that Obama was dead wrong.
Trump found his magic wand.
The Hill reports, “President Trump in a tweet on Monday said he’s found the “magic wand” to create job growth in the manufacturing industry.”
“Last year was the best year for American Manufacturing job growth since 1997, or 21 years. The previous administration said manufacturing will not come back to the U.S., ‘you would need a magic wand.’ I guess I found the MAGIC WAND – and it is only getting better!” Trump tweeted.
The tweet comes after news of America’s manufacturing industry is making a comeback for the ages.
Earlier this month, America’s manufacturing industry posted net job gains of 248,000 during 2018.
This is the best year for job gains since 1997.
Adding to the good news, Trump has routinely made manufacturing a key part of his campaign platform and domestic agenda as President.
He deserves credit for this achievement, and will no doubt use it as he campaigns for re-election in 2020.
The largest gains over 2018 in manufacturing have been cutting-edge technologies as well, including computer and electronic parts, as well as fabricated metals.
All of this is excellent news for President Trump, as he prepares to make his case for re-election in 2020 in the same Midwestern states that propelled him into the White House in 2016.
The news is also horrible for Democrats, who continue to root for the economy to falter in an attempt to tank Trump’s approval ratings and ensure his defeat in the next election.
It’s even worse news for former President Obama however, whose mocking reference to a “magic wand” that Trump would need to wave to bring back manufacturing jobs is proving to blow up in his face.
Obama promised America that Trump couldn’t deliver on the economy.
He has been proven wrong time and time again.
Do you think President Trump deserves credit for helping to revive America’s manufacturing industry?
