Democrats’ latest Hail Mary ploy in impeachment is a scheme in collaboration with the fake and corrupt news media to create a public pressure campaign on Republicans to force votes on impeachment witnesses.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer think they can use these votes as a wedge issue against Republican Senators running for re-election in swing states.
But that strategy is proving to be a double-edged sword for Democrats.
If Democrats win the right to call witnesses, due process and simple fairness dictates that Donald Trump would also get to put people of interest on the stand.
Hunter Biden is one name that would likely face a Senate subpoena if Democrats bully Republicans into forcing current and former Trump administration officials like Mick Mulvaney and John Bolton to testify.
But there is another – more damaging – witness Donald Trump is demanding testify.
And it is none other than Adam Schiff himself.
President Trump recalled that Schiff fabricated the contents of a phone call Trump had with the Ukrainian President where Schiff invented quotes from President Trump to claim Trump improperly pressured Ukraine to investigate Joe and Hunter Biden.
“Why did Nervous Nancy allow corrupt politician Shifty Schiff to lie before Congress? He must be a Witness, and so should she!” the President tweeted.
Trump supporters also want to see Schiff placed under oath to force him to answer questions about his staff’s collusion with alleged “whistleblower” Eric Ciaramella before Ciaramella filed his phony complaint with the Intelligence Community Inspector General in August.
Schiff then lied about his staff’s contacts with Ciaramella in interviews to cover up his role in the conspiracy against the President.
In interviews Schiff has falsely claimed he is not a fact witness.
“There is nothing for me to testify about, Jake. I think if the President or his allies in the Senate persist it means they are not serious about what they are doing,” Schiff whined to fake news CNN anchor Jake Tapper last November.
This simply is not true.
Ciaramella is a partisan political assassin who saw it as his mission to take down Donald Trump.
Before filing his phony complaint, Ciaramella did not reach out to the Senate Intelligence Committee which is chaired by Republican Richard Burr and operates on a bipartisan basis.
Instead, Ciaramella ran to Adam Schiff – one of the most partisan and prolific leakers in all of Washington – for “advice” on how to handle his knowledge of the July 25 phone call between Donald Trump and the Ukrainian President.
It was Schiff’s staff that suggested Ciaramella file a whistleblower complaint.
Schiff played a starring role in the origin story of the Ukraine hoax and now he is desperate to avoid being called to answer questions under oath about his part in a scheme to overthrow the duly elected President of the United States.
